Wow. Double digits of Novemeber. You know what that means? We're getting closer to getting Lauren home!!
Lauren's ventilators came in ... yesterday I think. The staff are making the circuit (all the tubing and hookups), and she'll be placed on her new vent tomorrow. I'll let you know how that goes, but Rita and I are VERY excited, as this is another big step towards getting her home.
I have been getting questions as to Lauren's size. Ready? She's up to 7lbs, 12 oz! Now, that is taking into account that she has a cast to correct her clubbed foot, but she's still getting up there.
Both sets of grandparents and Rita and myself were trained in CPR for infants and children yesterday. The resperatory therapists who were conducting the class were quite entertained by, what I'll call, our family dynamics! We had fun, and learned how to treat choking victims, and people who need CPR. The next step, is to get all our parents trained up on trach care and suctioning. We'll try to get that in soon.
Everything else is pretty well the same. Lauren is getting more an more beautiful everyday (if that's even possible). She is having good awake preriods, and I can't get over how much she looks like her mother.
I'm going to sign off, and get some rest. I've been fighting a cold, and I'm really trying to take care of myself, so I can take care of my family! Have a great day everybody!
Thank you for your love, support, thoughts and prayers.
