Lauren's been having a great past few days! She's having more and more awake periods and is taking in the world around her.
Last night, Rita and I gave her a bath, and Lauren has to come off the CPAP for that. She did VERY well, and there was no rush to put her back on (although we did when we were done). She maintained her colour and instills confidence in me everyday.
In order to get Lauren home, Rita and I have to undergo some training in trach and g-tube care. We have to learn how to suction her to get rid of the secretions, use her machinery, and clean her trach and g-tube sites. Rita is flying through it all, and I think will be a nurse by the time all this is over! I'm learning, but not able to be around as much due to work and school, but I am getting the hang of it. Ladies and gentlemen, I think we're getting closer to having our little dear at home!!!!!! We still have some time to put in here, but we're getting there.
Tonight, Oct 24, on Y108 FM, yours truly will be interviews for the Ronald McDonald House Hamilton! My interview time is at 6:20pm, so feel free to give a little listen! You can even go to www.y108.ca and click "LISTEN LIVE" up near the top of the page, just under the first banner, if you're unable to pull in the radio station.
That's about it for now. I have to go into work for a little while. I hope everyone has a great day, and thank you for your thoughts, support, love and prayers.
