Family, friends, and furry felines frolicking friskfully through fifty fences!
(Don't ask, this is what happens when you have a sniffle and take cheap NyQuil)
Welcome to another update. Again, I apologize for another few days having passed without an update, but until today, there wasn't much to say.
Lauren's been up and down with her weight over the past couple of days, she gained, and then she gained to much and it looked like she was retaining water as she was a little swollen. So, the doctor's worked their magic, and gave her some drugs to make her ... umm... dispose of the excess water. In short, Nature is calling more often, and Lauren's the one leaving the messages! But the doctors are keeping an eye on her weight as well, and have started a plan of lessening the amount of liquid she ingests, but having the milk more concentrated so she still gets all the calories she needs (her "caloric intake" I've learned it's called).
Onto something more serious, we spoke with Dr. Marrin again today, and the scope down Lauren's throat was done as far as they could go without blocking her airway. And after that was done, it is recommended that Lauren get's the tracheotomy and g-tube. It wasn't the result Rita and I were hoping for, but we've had some time to accept it now, and it does mean that Lauren will more than likely be able to come home sooner than later. Exactly when that is, we still don't know as it depends on when we actually go ahead with the procedures. It may be this coming week, or early the following week. I'm going to request for the following week that way I'm less likely to be stuck at work. As a brief "ZING" (for those who don't know, a ZING is a change in thought direction, and is something that can seem totally unrelated), I have been given full time hours at work in St. Catharines, which means less traveling to other stores for me!! Yay!
Rita and I are prepping to go to the Mennill farm this Thanksgiving Sunday, and we wish all of our lovely readers to have an equally lovely "Turkey Day", and we hope it will find you with loved ones and in good spirits. God bless all of you, and as always, (I'm starting to feel this to be my Jerry Springer closing remark after his Final Thought), thank you for you support, thoughts, love and prayers.
