Family Update
What's New
September 21, 2006

It's time for a bit of an experiment.  Because of the air tube going up through Lauren's nose, her nose has become very irritated and the doctors and nurses thought it best for it to come out.  Because of this, they thought they would try Lauren back on the CPAP (again, that stands for Controlled Positive Airway Pressure).  This machine is a little unsightly, but less invasive and it will give us a better idea of how her lungs are developing.  The change happened at about noon today, and while Rita and I were visiting Lauren, she was doing quite well.

Yesterday was Lauren's two week birthday already!  Grandma Debbie came down, but we weren't thinking about visiting hours, and it was a little too late for Grandma Debbie to see her.  So she took Rita and I out to dinner, and the three of us had a good time.

On that note, I do want to thank everyone for their gifts of dinner, snacks, lunches; all the food to make sure that Rita and I stay well fed and comfortable in our home away from home.  If you want to see where we are, visit www.rmhhamilton.ca .  And for those who wish to contribte in any fashion to this wonderful organziation, there are ways to do so.

Just getting back from the hospital again.  Lauren has done very well for herself today, and I'm about to post some new pictures, that even show how well her legs are doing with physio-therapy.

Also, for those who care to come visit Rita or myself (I'm afraid only Lauren's parents and grandparents can visit her for the time being), feel free to contact us.  We are able to have visitors at the the hospital or the Ronald McDonald house where we're staying, and these two places are RIDICULOUSLY close to each other!  Again, email us, and we would be happy to see you and update you in person.

Have a great day, thank you for your love, support, thoughts and prayers.
