Welcome to our historical descriptive listings of all members of Rhode Island Grand Army of the Republic (RI GAR) Arnold Post No. 4, sponsored by RI SUVCW Governors Elisha Dyer Camp No. 7, the RI GAR Civil War Museum & Library, RI ASUVCW Governors Elisha Dyer Auxiliary No. 2 and the RI State Commandery of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States (RI MOLLUS).   As you scroll through the following pages listing all members of RI GAR Arnold Post No. 4, you may see some parts of a Veteran’s biographies that are blank.   The blank spaces are not errors.   They are portions of research still in progress.   It is our goal to eventually list everything we can about the honored Civil War Veterans of RI GAR Arnold Post 4, i.e. complete military service, residence(s), occupations, births, deaths, burials, plus wives and children.   Our research is well underway, however some of our records are scattered or difficult to access.

  • If you have information that might assist us in any way please contact us.

  • If you see any errors, please let us know.

  • If you have an image of any of these Veterans, may we have a copy that we can post next to the Veteran’s biography?

  • Do you live in a home once owned by a Civil War Veteran?   We also want to post modern or historical images of the places where the Veterans once lived next to their biographies.   Most of the Veterans of the Civil War were folks just like you and us.   They lived during one of our Nation’s more difficult times.   We can never forget what they did, or what any of our Nation’s Veterans from 1602 to the present did to insure the freedoms and the liberties we all enjoy today.   After 100 years of its existence, RI SUVCW Governors Elisha Dyer Camp No. 7 is in it for the long hall, and so are the RI GAR Civil War Museum & Library, RI ASUVCW Governors Elisha Dyer Auxiliary No. 2, and RI MOLLUS.   We are all non profit and we all exist to serve you.
