12 Abbreviation of Information Bureau, replacement for Third International, (Communist International), organized in 1919 by the Bolsheviks to coordinate the activities of communist movements throughout the world. The latter was abolished during the World War II. In 1947 a new international Communist organization was created under designation of Communist Information Bureau, popularly known as Cominform.
