CAN YOU SEE AND FEEL

I have been drifting and dreaming
all my life
and now I feel that it is time to wake up
and do something right for once in my life
because I can't stand to listen any longer to the screaming
from those who are in deep need for some help
kids from broken homes and some of them addicted to dope
because I have a strong mind
it is my job to lend my hands and do all that I can
to stop the insanity that goes on all over the land
I can not longer act like I did before
I have to show that there is hope

You can look right at it
but you will never see it
unless you admit it

I have been drifting and dreaming
for a long long time
and I never thought about those who cried
because they had lost their safety at home
and at school they were beaten too
and many poor young souls got into heavy crimes
and some of them also died
because there was nobody there to prevent it
since they all preferred to let things pass by silently
even if it would effect their own life
after a little while

I have been drifting and dreaming
in the darkness too long
but now the time has come
to step forward and to be firm and strong
and start to rebuild our society in a new way
so we all one day soon
can begin to feel happiness and joy again
you have also been sleeping
while everything got out of hands
so this is your chance too
to see and feel
every little misery around
and maybe you finally will do something
for once in your life
or do you still prefer to drift and dream
like I used to do
