STEP OUT AND ACT RIGHT

What are you going to do about it
or do you believe that you are safe
and that nothing bad will ever happen
since you live a so-called normal life
and don't expose yourself that much
but one day you will face a weapon
or a crazy kid with a sharp knife
who is willing to kill for small changes

Step out of your vacuum
and take a real good look
and spit in your hands and start to work
to make this world a better place
before you get embraced by hate and envy
and it gets too late to live

What are you going to do about it
can't you see all the doomed families
living in condemned buildings surrounded by trash
and without jobs and desperately in need of some cash
when will you realize
that what is going on all over the land
is really a crisis totally out of hand
and soon there will be only ash to share between
those who survive

What are you going to do about it
you can't just turn your back to it any longer
because uptown will become downtown
and there will be no use to call for more police
because we have all seen
that punishment and restrictions is not the way to go
it only makes those who are willing to kill and destroy
stronger by the hour
and we will all lose in the big game
since we have forgotten how to feel shame
and how to make and stay friends

What are you going to do with your life
or do you want it to remain like it is today
filled with confusion
that only leads to self reduction in a slow painful way
or do you feel that you have reached the turning point
and now you are willing to give everything
so you can get yourself a good life finally
