A young blond beautiful girl about 13
I saw her sitting there
at the bottom of the stairs
with a needle in the arm
and she was completely dead
heroin took her valuable life
while she tried to escape
from her abusing father and uncle
and their friends

It happens out there
in your home town
it is not something on TV

A young strong boy about 19
I saw the police
dragging his body up from the river
and he had left a note at the bank
where it was written
there was no school or work for me
and the welfare office rejected me
and said that I could live with my family
but my mama has cancer
and she is dying slow
and my papa has become a drunk
since he lost his job
so what choice do I really have
goodbye to you all I have to go

A young colored child about 14
I saw him joyriding
in a stolen expensive sports car
and one hour afterwards
I heard on the radio
that he got involved
in a car hunt with the police
he gave his best try but ran out of gas
and when he got out of the car
and tried to run
the police took his life with their guns
and so they started
to dance the hero dance
applauded by the minister of justice
since we all want law and order
we can all join the gang
and put the same shirt on
our straight back and forget

A lot of young disorientated people
everywhere around
without any future at all
since they lost in the casual game of life
broken homes no jobs no school
alcohol pills drugs
became their way out of one misery
into the worst way of living
at the bottom
forever bound to stay and obey the law
we all wanted so much
since we don't want to take any care
just wait until you end there
and you will really feel
the true and real democracy
