I used to dream
about a lot of things
that I believed
that I needed
but when I got them
they did not give me
what I expected
and that was happiness
they did not give me anything
they were just things

You can wish
and you can get
but you will end up
with nothing

I used to think
that if I had a nice car
and a big house
and a fast boat by the beach
and a lot of money in my pocket
the best and prettiest girls
would hang around me all the time
and my life would take off
just like a moon rocket
but I did not reach so far
the police came
and I ended up behind bars
and I also had to give back everything
that I earned on this wild experiment
you can wish
but get what you want in a legal way
because spending time in jail
takes your soul away

I used to feel happy
and I was free
but not anymore
they have bolted the iron door
and I got to stay
for years
because I wanted
too much luck
