I am walking in the rain
but it can not wash away my shame
my eyes have been opened
and I can clearly see the misery
children are crying and people are dying
and the only ones to blame are you and me
because we silently agree
when they tell us that this is what we need
it is not true
that we have to use guns and bombs and artillery
and chemical weapons and worse
if we want to set ourselves free

Child warrior do your best
kill to the East and to the West
and afterwards
you have to kill to the North and to the South
child warrior there is no time to rest

I am walking under the hot sun
but there is no place for me to run and hide
because all the shelters have been burned
a long time ago
and all normal values have been turned
into something that is very difficult to explain
it is enough to take a look at the slowly drying blood
and at all the bodies slated down by modern swords
made by the people who live for money and glory
in other words
it is you and me that keep on doing our best
to make ends meet the easy way

I am walking in the darkness
but I can't find any happiness or peace or friends
and the stars do not give me enough light to see
the great mammoth trap that I am closing into
and my brain is also filled with so much fright
because I wonder if life on earth ever will be lived right
and if there will come a time without war and disaster
and we can live in peace
without thinking about the next murder to take place
and we can all get the food our bodies need
because there is no longer
any sort of greed
