and love was so strong and we were young
and held together through good and bad
yes we were friends we were friends to death

we could do anything

before we knew what drugs
would turn us into

back in the time when we believed
that everything would last forever
a time of friendship and hope
before we got addicted to something called dope

Dreaming of the forgotten past
back then when we were young and open minded
and we dreamt that the world was ours to use
and we thought that everything looked so bright
and everything we did felt so up to date
and so we started smoking the pipe

Dreaming of the forgotten past
back then when we believed that everything would last
before we understood what this world is like
and there was hope and joy in our souls
when we were young and free
free to give pure love from our hearts
a long time before we knew
what all those sorts of drugs could do
back when we were young
and innocent

Dreaming of the forgotten past
even if I know in my heart
that the time can never come back to me
and time travel is impossible
dreaming constantly of the adventure
we once lived in before
everything went totally out of control
and we lost our souls
