Sleeping is the state of mind
that we are in all the time
we don't care
for what is going on
we just think about ourselves
and how to get what we want
but we have forgotten
what we really need
and that is inner peace
and that is impossible to get
when we are not awake
who can we depend on
when everybody is asleep

What will it bring
when we don't want to listen
can't you hear the bell ringing

In the center of the universe
we believe that we are
but we are so far out in the end
and we do not understand
that we are on our own
and we can not see that we
have to set ourselves free
and there is no chance that somebody
will come to rescue this world
give up that hope and wake up
sleeping is the state of mind and we
don't want to understand

The bells are ringing so loud everywhere
but we are much too proud
to admit that we can hear them well
so we choose to create a strange sort of hell
just listen to all those shingling screaming loud bells
and tell me how beautiful the sound is
or have you become deaf blind mute
or is the simple truth
that you are too astute
