Instructor of Forte
Kelly Dewyer-Wimmers
Hello!  My name is Kelly Wimmers.  I am the instructor of the Forte Baton, Pom, and Flag Academy of Wapakoneta, Ohio and the advisor for the Wapakoneta High School Flag Corps and Twirlers.  I am  a graduate of the University of Toledo where I received my bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Instrumental Music.   Currently I am a substitute teacher in the Wapakoneta City School System and at St. Joseph's Elementary School.  My husband, Steven and I reside in Botkins, Ohio where we have just welcomed home our first daughter, Haley Jo.

I have been twirling since I was 9 years old.  I hold a number of twirling titles in such organizations as DMA, WTA, and TU, including the 1998 Miss College Majorette. I am also a licensed baton twirling teacher and judge with the World Twirling Association.  I am also a former member of the Nuaunce Winter Guard of Lima, Ohio, the Wapakoneta Flag and Twirling Line, and the Bowling Green Flag Corps and Twirling Line.

I currently teach a number of energetic girls and boys ranging in age from 3-20 years.  All the children perform in parades and at local events.  Many of the children compete on the competition teams and individually.  I have also just started a new baton twirling program out of the Wapakoneta Family YMCA.  The group is going strong with the second session having 10 children involved.  We are looking forward to our upcoming events and local, state, regional, and national competitions in 2004.
