fellow students, I'm sure you all have noticed the spirit of revolution spreading in our grade. Yes, it is really damn cold outside, and we're all yearning for summer. But before we can melt the ice that surrounds our souls and enjoy the summer of mental freedom we must force a spring. It is true that everybody of us is allowed to make up his own mind, to form own values and set own priorities. It is true that no generation before had the opportunity to make use of such a great abudance of information and knowledge. It is true that society isn't devided anymore into two hostile camps, exploiters and exploited. It is true that there isn't just wealth and poverty, with nothing in between. It is true that many of us took their idols out of the generation of former revolutionaries. So wake up! Isn't it a clear sign? Why should we admire them, if there isn't a need for revolution today? Think! How can we take advantage of the plenty of information if we aren't able to decide what we really need to know? How can we take advantage if most knowledge we gather we gather to let it get dusted in the drawers of our mind? How can we take advantage of our freedom of speech if we have nothing to say? How can we take advantage of our freedom to set own priorities if we aren't used to think autonomically? So maybe we are not free, not at all. But to doubt our freedom would mean to shatter the security today's society offers. So as we don't want to change the present circumstances which are oh so peaceful - So as we don't want to change the present circumstances which allow us to lead a comfortable life until the next H-bomb drops into our middle or till we die overfed - PLEASE, SLEEP ON!!
