We have gone ahead and purchased the bike from the owner. My deal
with him precludes me from giving specifics about the transaction.
We definitely believe we'll get the bike running, but no telling
what $ amount in parts or additional expertise we'll need. I offered
him more than I really think it's worth, but
Gabriel and I are emotionally attached to it.
Let's just say it wasn't "FrankenMagna" money :)
