You can't jump to light speed if your hyperdrive is damaged Feb 1999

2/5/99

As we all learned from George Lucas, it's impossible to jump to light speed if your hyperdrive motivator is damaged. My big news last time on PB98 was that it was running.

When I wrote that, what I didn't know was that it wasn't moving.

Turns out, when I tried to put the bike in gear, I went nowhere. Tried all the gears, suspicious that I might have a bad gear, but alas, they all acted the same. I wasn't sure what the problem was, and eventually swapped swing arms, final drives and drive shaft thinking that the problem might be there. Eventually I moved upstream enough to discover that the cluch was bad.

Next trip to the lake, I'll take the clutch off of "Odie" and see if it's good(having a parts bike is handy, too!).
