Tonight the boy and I began disassembly/inspection on the bike. And
may I say that the investment in the Fish CD has already paid dividends,
as we knew EXACTLY what to unscrew/unbolt/yank off.
As you'll recall, PB98 has the Hondaline Fairing and Hondaline Hardbags,
so we got a chance to learn by removing them and their brackets as well.
I myself have only done minimum maintenance on "Boomhauer"(I've
paid a local shop to do the tuneups it's needed since I've owned it), and
so had never taken off a hondaline fairing, but the design's fairly
sensible and we had no trouble.
The gas tank actually appears much cleaner than PB97's ("Rip") did (how
could it have been worse, right?), so we'll see, but maybe it won't
need much work.
The plastic we've removed is in pretty good shape, however the skeleton
that's left behind is *dusty* and *dirty*. We may have to put it in the
back of the truck and run it to a car wash just to clean the thing off!
PB99 has begun,
but I've got lots of riding scheduled this summer, so I hope no one's
on the edge of their seat awaiting updates, as they may be sporadic
for a while :)
