To follow the lead of the Evil Empire(just kidding, Mike), I have
decided to name the next project Project Bike 98 or PB98 for short
(to distinguish it from the previous project, PB97, Rip Van Sabre).
I'll forgo a complete assessment of Scarlett's needs(since
I haven't done one yet :), but during the process of unloading
the bike from the truck I've discovered one need. It appears
that unlike PB97, whose front brake was nonfunctional
when we first unloaded him, PB98's front brake works too good.
When we tried to roll the bike back to the ramp, the front wheel
didn't turn.
I don't know what the proper thing to do in this circumstance
is, but I'll tell you what Gabriel and I decided to do. Since
we already had dealt with loading/unloading a bike with no front
brake, we loosened the hydraulic cables on both calipers and drained
the fluid from them. Within seconds the front wheel moved again.
(We joked that it was like going to a doctor with a cold and having
him give you pneumonia, since he could cure that.)
We unloaded the bike and stored it in the garage.
So, first on the 'needs repair' list is front brakes.
