G.I. Joe Weapons Systems
One of the more distintive aspects of the G.I. Joe line is the wide array of vehicles originally designed by Hasbro. However many of these designs are somewhat unrealistic, and thus would not fit in well with the type of material that we write. So we took the more conventional vehicles designs and tinkered with both their design and specifications in order to achive vehicles that would not draw away from the realism of our stories.

A.W.E. Striker - Advance scout
Wheeled, Easy transport (XM-790)
Concept: Based on the original Hasbro toy.
Design Base: http://www.yojoe.com/vehicles/85/awestriker/
Major Visual Differences: The roof mounted
weapon is much simpler. No targeting system on the right side of
the cab or cable running to the weapon. A position to support
simple seat behind the weapon is present raised above the engine
and is supported by offshoots of the rollrage. Antennas are kept
tethered to the front of the vehicle in nearly all cases.
Role: Designed as a rugged fast attack and
scouting vehicle that can be easily transported by also any
vehicle over land, air, or sea.
Primary Weapon: One 7.62mm manned machine on a
mount at the aft roof of the cab.
Secondary Weapons: None.
Special Equipment: None.
Combat Weight: 1 ton
Maximum Combat Speed: 120 m.p.h. (diesel, 2
wheel drive). 86 m.p.h. (diesel, 4 wheel drive)
Crew: Two. (Driver: Crew member that that has
control of the motions of the vehicle. Gunner: Crew member that
manually controls the mounted weapon. Note: The driver operates
the vehicle from the left of the cab while the gunner sits in a
raised seat aft of the cab to operate the weapon. Neither
officially has command. The driver's task is to keep targets in
range while the gunner and tracks and fires on whatever he/she
deems important.)
Common Color Scheme: U.S. standard woodland
camouflage.
Bigfoot (XM-799)
Concept: Based on the original Hasbro toy of the
Amphibious Personnel Carrier (A.P.C.).
Design Base: http://www.yojoe.com/vehicles/83/apc/
Major Visual Differences: Gun turret is much
simpler (a flat rotating ring with a weapons mount and a thin
levered crew hatch). A small section of roofing and walling over
the troop cabin next to the cab is metal and is the section of
the roof that the gun turret is located on. A roll-down flap is
present at the back of the troop cabin. Levered armored flaps and
pexiglass over the cab windows.
Role: Designed as a more rugged counter part to
the standard cargo truck; the Bigfoot is able to easily across
rough terrain, has full amphibious capability, and is better
equipped to survive battlefield conditions without losing
adaptability by electing to go with ballistic material as a bed
cover instead of normal canvas or enclosing the area by going
fully armored.
Primary Weapon: One 12.7mm manned machine gun on
mount just aft of the cab.
Secondary Weapons: None.
Special Equipment: None.
Combat Weight: 15 tons
Maximum Combat Speed: 55 m.p.h. (diesel)
Crew: One. (Operator: Crew member that has
control of the motions of the vehicle. Note: The operator
controls the vehicle from the left of the cab. A gunner is need

Special Equipment: Tracking and fire-control
short-range active/passive radar array. Fire and forget infrared
signature missile launch capabilities. Electronic Counter
Measures capable of distorting both radar and infrared signals.
Infrared, starlight, and telescopic target sighting and
acquisition capabilities. Image recognition equipment that can
allow a target to be automatically tracked, allowing the computer
to move the turret and cannons for the best possible shooting
position, including the factoring in of target lead distance.
Laser range finder. Slavable to search and track radar for even
more effective anti-aircraft coverage. Ammunition magazine is
specially designed to vent the blast in case of magazine
detonation, limiting damaged area to that of the magazine.

tailgate is present. Antenna is kept tethered to the side of the
vehicle in nearly all cases.
Role: Designed as a rugged fast attack and
scouting vehicle that can be easily transported by also any
vehicle over land, air, or sea but with more survivability than
that of the A.W.E. Striker.
Primary Weapon: One 7.62mm manned machine on an
elevated mount inside the bed of the vehicle but this can be
easily removed to allow for more space for troops or equipment.
Secondary Weapons: None.

member that that has control of the motions of the vehicle.
Gunner: Crew member that manually controls the mounted weapon.
Note: The driver operates the vehicle from the left of the cab
while the gunner stands in the vehicle's bed to operate the
weapon. Neither officially has command. The driver's task is to

allows the gunner and commander positions of a standard tank to
be meshed into a single crew member who both operates the weapons
of the Mauler and acts as vehicle commander. Driver: Crew member
that has control of the motions of the vehicle and is under the
direction of the turret operator. Notes: Both are seated side by
side in a single compartment in the front body of the Mauler.)
