commander position in 1970 where he continued to lead from the
front, frequently involving himself in combat operations. After
rotating state-side in 1972 he once again returned to Air Defense

confident and fearless despite the amount of pressure present,
not allowing his troops to see any negative emotions whatsoever.
Prefers to earn the respect of his troops and leads in a relaxed
atmosphere, knowing that the men and women under his command are
just as human and individual as he is. Is very patient and
compassionate when interacting with others which causes him to
have an ideal balance of having his troops trust him without
forgetting that he is their commander. Is not prone to losing his
