Angel In The Bed / Soulmate

I walk inside the room, where you are in the bed,
I can barely control my tears, I gently kiss your head.
I hold your hand and see the ring, the ring you wore with glee
The ring we chose for me and you, the one that means you belong to me.
I stand there looking at you, your beauty is still strong,
everything looks perfect, yet something is still wrong.
Our families are in shock, I'm in pain galore.
That I might lose you baby, the one I most adore.
I beg for you to come back to me, in God's name I pray.
That you'll wake up in that bed, and brighten this solemn day.
The tests soon come back to us, nothing can be done.
I curse God's name in vain, for he takes my soulmate and my fun.
Your heartbeat gets slower, slower than a slug.
Then the question comes to me, should we pull the plug.
My heart sinks down real low, tears run down my face.
Pull the plug is only right, but we lose your beauty and your grace.
I kiss your lips one last time, then slowly walk away.
I try to walk but barely can, soon help comes my way.
I walk by our family and friends, as they say that it's okay.
But what the hell do they know, they will never feel this way.
I go back to see you one last time, to tell you a few last things.
To let you know that you're okay now, your pain is gone so spread your wings.
Then I go home to prepare, prepare for the funeral and wake,
Prepare to be real strong, for your mother's and father's sake.
So there we stand at your gravesite, my brother holds me tight,
For I can't control my emotions, at this unimaginable sight.
All the people leave, but our families are still there,
For there lies the only thing in the world, for which we all did share.
Your love was like a gift, from the heavens above,
Though they took you way too soon, we knew that we were loved.
Now sleep well my little angel, your time on earth is done,
Just remember that soulmates meet again, for an eternity of fun.
