| A Single Tear | ||||||||||||
| A single tear fell that day From my cold eyes that now turn away Far away from your face; It is too beautiful to be buried in this place. The world hath lost you, an angel made of gold. But to God we know your soul was sold. My ears did not want to hear A sound that I do fear- The closing of the lid, And behind it your beautiful face is forever hid. I lost a friend of long that cold spring day. You left this world of old, and are far, far away. My hands held a weight, that which I did not wish to hold. And to your grave I carried you, you my friend till old. Goodbye sweet Allison, the world sings your name. And every life touched will never be the same.
