| RIOT SQUAD BANGER TEAM is a banger team from the North-East of England. At the moment the team is made up from Maynie 129, Nicky 136, Scott 127, Chrissy 130 (Also recently racing under 829), and Mark 829. Ever since the Foot and Mouth a few years ago, everybody seems to have lost interest. But Maynie, Chrissy and Mark are getting out now and again. Scott is still out of action after his crash on the road a few years ago. We're not sure if Nicky is still even alive because nobody ever sees him. |
| MAYNIE BOB- aka SOAPY- aka SMILER (The list goes on). Maynie Robinson is the oldest in the team (hee hee hee), living near Bishop Auckland in the North- East of England. He has to do with most of the building of the cars, as most of them are stored at his home. Maynie has been racing for a long time now, starting in autograss racing in August 1986. Also doing the odd meeting at the legendary Aycliffe Stock Car Stadium, including the last EVER meeting there. He stopped grass tracking in 1993. Starting bangers at Barford Raceway in the late season of 1995. After being banned from Barford, Maynie started racing at Warton Raceway a lot more, competing in caravan races, Reliant Robin racing, Metro bangers and of course normal bangers. Maynie also still races at Appleby, but says he wont do much more after breaking his heel bone. |
| NICKY SIMPSON- aka NICKY NO BRAINS Nicky Simpson is the one that thinks he's really good.....(who you trying to kid?), also living near Bishop Auckland in the North-East of England. Nicky seems to have disapeared off the face of the planet as far as banger racing is concerned. Not to worry. I'll delete him from all Riot Squad history books soon. Nicky also started racing in Autograss, and was Maynies arch enemy (you wouldnt think so now). I'm going to find out when he started racing and update the site. Nicky started banger racing at Barford Raceway aswell. He has also raced at such tracks like Cowdenbeath, Arena Essex and Sheffield. I'd be very surprised if we ever see Nicky racing again. (HEE HEE HEE). |
| HOT TODDY! aka FAT NODDY! Scott Todd (who is by the way not fat) is a bit mad (in a nice way of course), and lives in Darlington in the North-East of England. Scott is also one who likes to race all over the country. Scott is another one who started racing in Autograss at the start of the season in 1986, just beating Maynie by a few months. Scott has managed to race at tracks such as Arena Essex, Bradford Stadium, Cowdenbeath and Sheffield, as well as Warton and Barford. Scott was also another one to get banned from Barford. Unfortunatey quite a few years ago now, Scott was involved in a serious accident which very badly injured one of his legs, and is still recovering now. I'm sure he'll be back out one day. |
| JACKO! The Big Guy. Mark Jackson (thats me), is the slightly large chap of the team. Living in Darlington in the North- East of England. I started racing in Ministox at Barford in August 1995. But got bored of fixing the car and finished in the early part of the season of 1999 after competing in, and completing the ORCi ministox World Final. Other than Barford I've raced at Appleby, and done junior bangers at Warton. More recently I raced at Warton in the old Cowdenbeath World Cup 2000 car, that Nicky originally raced. |
| CHRISSY Chris Martin is the newest member to the team. He also lives near Bishop Auckland in the North-East of England. Chrissy is 17, and has a massive appetite for bangers. Chrissy has raced at Warton and Barrow in ministox junior bangers, and more recently in a Mk2 Granada Estate at Warton, and not forgetting Appleby.. I think Chrissy could have a big future in banger racing, if he can get a bit of transport sorted. He's also done a few banger rod meetings at Barford Raceway. |
