you may think that some bands are all "agianst" corporate sponsership and Nationalism, but really, think agian. The reasong why this is comming up now is simple. "Punk" bands that state things such as, I will later explain, one nation controlled by the media. Ok. THink about this. What qualifys as mainstream media? Zeta, The buzz. CLEAR CHANNEL. Lets talk about clear channel. A small radio/ advertising company. Started of with one or two stations a couple of years ago, not a big operation. Most did not even notice them as they gained over 300+ radio stations and millions of billboars across the nation. Now lets talk about pop punk. It was made for 2 reasons: To cancell out real punk and leave you with no message and a 20$$ cd, and to make huuge profits. The goverment takes counter cultures, the hippies for instance, and makes them join the mainstream, making a revolution imposible. GREENDAY. Resently has come out with a new song "American Idiot". This song has lyrics like " One nation controlled by the media" and "I'm not part of your Red neck agenda". They are what is destroying the punk revolution. But really, its not there fault. The goverement looks for bands that are weak at the site of money, they take them make them seem agianst the govermnent and makes YOU the listener go out, buy the cd, forget about DIscharge, anti-flag, Conflict and REAL political bands. Ohh no, not them. THere gonna rot and die andso is the revolution unless we dont give in to the corporate bullshit. Seriously concider never listening to mainstream radio agian. Listen to old Jazz, to classical to 77 punk and anything thats not under record labels that are called names like "Epic" and never go to clear channel shows.. Keep listening to the good shit and fuck mtv (as well)
