Sunrise

T-Bag paused for a moment; he was panting, tired and still going through one of the most painful experiences that he had ever felt but he needed to take a break before he collapsed.
He sat down on the ground, wondering if taking the break would end up costing him his life. He looked in his lap, his hand was still tightly wrapped in his tee-shirt, now stained that peculiar strand of red that always either repulsed or intrigued people. Trying to stabilise it on his knees he pulled the shirt over his head, binding it around the hand and laying it down beside him, feeling a slight twinge of freedom that he wasnt holding it anymore.
He took in some deep breaths, trying to steady himself and stop from shaking but everything had happened so quickly. The escape, his seemingly brilliant plan to handcuff himself to Michael, the sudden amputation by Abruzzi and then running in no specific direction, just away from the dogs and then towards the faint sounds of civilisation.
He was trying to work out how long he had been running for, and wishing that he had access to a watch when he noticed something. A faint shaft of light had fallen onto a leaf almost directly in front of him.
Unsure exactly what he was doing he reached over to the spot, plucking the leaf from the ground and pulling it towards him, watching with annoyance as the light instantly faded, turning it from something magical into something useless. He examined it for a few more seconds before shaking his head and laughing hoarsely at himself; it was just a leaf; it had never been anything magical. He threw it down onto the ground and sighed, trying to stop the buzzing that felt trapped inside his head.
But it was only a couple of seconds before he noticed it again, another leaf that was lightened, along with the bare edges of the ground around it. He turned his head away, unfortunately meaning that he was looking directly at the bundle besides him. He rubbed at his forehead with his remaining hand, for two things so close together they looked entirely different; one angelic and one demonic.
He blinked as the light seemed to attack him, burning into his eyes and he ducked away from it before he realised what it was. The sun was rising, starting to break through the trees and splaying over more and more of the ground around him.
Picking up the bundle he began to make his way to civilisation again, trying to hide his disappointment that the light hadnt been there just for him.
