Lemme say right off the bat....my pics came out super sucky and therefore are unuseable.  Only a few will be here so this is mostly just me telling you about the super awesome cool bands.

Now since this was a HUGE concert, I'll skip everything I was gonna say and go straight to when we arrived at the giant field the concert was at.

It started at noon and would last until 11 PM so Kenny and I decided that we'd just get there when we felt like it because we didn't give a rats ass about the first half dozen bands that played.  So we wound up getting there at about 2:30.

It was a freakin' BRIGHT god damn day, but not very hot.  So we took off our shirts and paraded around our super sexy selves for everyone to notice.....but I'd bet everyone was more likely lookin' at the massive amounts of exposed air brushed boobies that were EVERYWHERE!!! Seriously...lotsa titties at this concert.

So a couple bands that are about as enjoyable as repeated ass rapings played their stuff and maybe two dozen people were into it, but for the most part....the crowd was pretty calm.  Eventually Kenny and I worked our way into the crowd getting closer for when the good bands came up.

So I created this little picture to help everyone gauge where we was.  The stage was split in half so the bands that were coming up wouldn't have to wait forever to take down the previous bands stuff and then put up their own.  Good thing.....short intervals between bands....(thumbs up)
For those of you that have no idea what the T-divider is: its basically like an empty passage splitting the crowd in two.  The security guards man this thing because it splits rowdy crowds into easier to deal with halves as well as makes it easier to get out of the crowd for fans.  You just climb over and get out.

We got right up on the thing.  Wierd thing was, we could see the bands to the left (farther away) MUCH better than the ones to the right (too many people in the way).  Which sucked cause Godsmack was the number one reason we were there.  But its all good.

We were out directly in the sun for four hours so I got burned SOOOOO bad.  It didn't hurt....I just looked red as HELL!!  So this is what we looked like:
Next up was Theory of a Deadman.  I really like these guys.  I've got their album and they are a really good rock band.  But unfortuneately, something was lacking in their performance.

For one, the singers mic was too low and it was also hot a BUNCH of times (when you hear that high pitched wail).  Another short set, got to hear the three songs I really love by them "Invisible Man" "Any Other Way" and "Last Song" but they were really the second WORST performance.....oh well.
Saliva.  I saw these guys once before....with Godsmack no less.  I didn't really know them back then, but now I do and I really like em.  "Always" is a kick ass song that even punk lovin' Jay says he likes.

They had a good set and even did some Pearl Jam/Dixie Chicks bashing before playing "Pride" A song where the chorus is "The pride of America" Wonder which side they would take.....hmmmmm.

Next up was 3 Doors Down.  At this point it was really late and the majority of the crowd was wanting Godsmack.  So after a few songs, they started chanting "Godsmack, Godsmack"...while 3DD wasn't even done yet.  They were good, but nothing super special.
Earthday Birthday X
Ahh...next up: Seether.  The newest band I've come to like that came to the concert.  They did a bang up job on their set too.  I first came to like them because seriously....their lead singer....looks like me.  Pale, chubby, long hair (it WILL be back soon).  "Fine Again" is a good song and the looking alike just made me say "Why not?" and I like it a lot.

Biggest surprise was their last song.  They started playing a song I didn't know was theirs.  I said to Kenny, "This is THEIR song?" and I started running the lyrics ahead to figure it out....then I came to "You know yooouu're riiiiiight" and I let out a big "OOOHHHHHHH" and realized they was doing Nirvana's posthumous release.  I was confused cause seriously....this guy sounds JUST like Kurt Cobain....to a TEE!!
Before these guys got up there the crowd was pretty calm, like I said.  I didn't know so many people liked these guys cause when they came up the crowd ROARED to life and I saw about 20 crowd surfers (even though I think doing that is lame) when before there were none.

The did a damn good job too.  The had a pretty short set...but I'd say they gave the third best performance of all the bands.

Kenny, being a bitch, thought slightly less of them...but he sucks.
To give you some idea, we were about 70 feet from the stage pressed against the T-divider.
Now....I've seen Stone Sour before too.  Kenny was with me.  Since, I've bought their album...but actually....my opinion has gone south.  "Bother" is an AWESOME song, but the rest isn't very appealing.  Corey Taylor (correct me if I'm wrong) had a sore throat so he had some trouble.

I'm not the hugest fan and when he didn't do "Bother" I was super disappointed.
Back to the left stage we go: PM5K or Powerman 5000 for the idiots out there.  One of my favorite bands.  I love these guys.  I was a little fearful cause I saw them perform on tv once and they weren't very good....but they came through for me this time...they rocked.  They played a buncha stuff from Tonight the Stars Revolt and then went into their up coming album called Transform.

This was...unfortunate.  I REALLY like these guys...but I didn't KNOW Transform.....I like knowing the songs...so I could only get into half their set.  But even despite that...I rank their performance as number two.  Kenny soundly disagrees...but once again...he sucks.
Next up: Sevendust.  I think the majority of the crowd really wanted to see these guys...I kept hearing people say that.  Plus I think they're from the Orlando/Tampa area...which would explain it.  I like them...but they're not a favorite.

So disappointing.  They ranked ninth out of nine.  Why you ask?  The singer....I forget his name.  Number one...the mic was again too low.  And worst of all....he kept FORGETTING HIS LYRICS!!!  Plus they had a bunch of stuff I didn't know....Animosity is the only album I have.....so they really weren't good.
Dun dun dun...the finale.  Godsmack.  They got up there at like 9:30 and played until 11 pm.  Which was just about the same as the last time I saw them.  And they totally rocked the mother fucking place.

Sully Erna (singer) has such a unique voice.  He took a turn at drums and even played some guitar, the rhythm part for "Whatever"  They did all the released stuff: "Whatever" "Keep Away" "Voodoo" "Greed" "Straight Out of Line" "Bad Magick" and a buncha other stuff.

It was seriously super awesome.  They made the concert perfect.  Without them.....I'd have said it was damn good.....but with them...it was the best concert I've ever been to.

So they went off stage, came back for the encore and did "Awake" and "I Stand Alone" I was singing so hard for "I Stand Alone" I could feel the blood pulsing to my sunburn.

After that we made our way outta there and went back to the hotel.
Now....ON WITH THE BANDS.  Due to the sheer number of bands, I'll try and keep it short and sweet.  First up: Trapt.
Bandanna pick saved over......my bad you guys
KENNY WITHOUT A SHIRT!!! AHHHHHH MY EYES!!!!
Viva la mullet!!
I define this concert as "Unmeasurable in awesomeness"  Godsmack absolutely ruled the stage.  This is how I ranked them in descending order.

Godsmack
Powerman 5000
Trapt
3 Doors Down
Saliva
Seether
Stone Sour
Theory of a Deadman
Sevendust

Despite Sevendust's suckiness and ToaD's disappointing....ness....I still give this concert a big 10!! If you get a chance to see Godsmack...go...they always give a kickass show.....however....if it's outside...SUNBLOCK...SUNBLOCK...SUNBLOCK
