Carnival in Brazil

Dreaming about the hot Carnival & Rio...

The second greater celebration of the world is in Rio de Janeiro, losing for the first that is in Salvador, the one that joins 2 million people in two avenues during 6 days consecutive. Rio de Janeiro is full of tourists of all parts of Brazil and the outside.

WHAT IS CARNIVAL?

It is a exuberante celebration of the sexual sins, as its name in Latin suggests it (carna=carne(meat) – vale=in abundance). This event happens from a rule of the Italian Churchwhere it turned 40 days of abstention before the Páscuas. As it is the most natural thing to do
when you know that you will be very hungry? That same one! preparate to the Carnival that begins in Florence, Italy that quickly was adopted by the Portuguese who lived back in hundredth Brazil of years.

The Florenciana celebration that surrounds masks not to lose the good reputation of the members of the celebration. Leather costumes influenced by native of the country and the drums influenced by the African slaves. Mixture all that, and don´t stop , and you get a tradition of 200 years that surrounds all those essences by 5 days before Wednesday of ashes.

THE SAMBA SCHOOL

In spite of the name, they are not really schools, but if an enormous group of musicians, designers of costumes, dancers and trenadores that invest up to 11 months of the year preparing the show which they are going to show its schools during the next championship of schools of samba.
They choose a subject in which they are going to work in April, they begin to develop the ideas of the parade in May,

begin to choose music in August and begin to prepare canival costumes in September. They work until the end of January and present/display their parades in sambódromo during the week ends of Carnival, in their hopes to reach to the fourth place of a category of 10. The categories surround better music, improves drums, better disfrazes, better floats, better dance, better melodía, etc. similar to the Oscars.
