The Governments both State and Federal want you to feel futile in any attempt to assert change in the way they are doing things! If all you want to do is sit in your house and complain to your friends, you're doing what the Governments want you to do, NOTHING! Complaining to your friends is NOT getting out there to the people! Its NOT getting back to the Governments, It stops at your lips. Just think if our founding fathers sat and talked about revolution, we'd be speaking English, and still colonies to England! Terry Shivo's parents didn't sit there and complain to the nurses about their daughter, they went to mayors, governors, congressmen, senators and even the President, and got out there to be heard and judged by the public! Homosexuality has become acceptable in society because the gay men went out and got support from society as a whole!I'm sure this is a case of taxation without representation! Which Ohio Delegate voted for the tax hike in Ohio is a smoker? If revenue is needed, then why JUST a cigarette tax. The reason alcohol didn't get taxed is because the drinkers said "OH NO YOUR NOT"!!! Ohio smokers complained to the cashier at the grocery store, and went home! Smokers are a passive bunch, I don't know what it will take to get you riled up! When will enough be enough? |

I say we need to petition to get the tax repealed. Also we need to enact and smoker rights law! A law that says; "Any branch of government who bans smoking, a legal action, will resign and refrain from the use of tobacco revenue both in tax and in court settlement." No tobacco money will or can be released due to the fact that this government branch has banned tobacco usage. It will also be illegal to enact a usage tax, since there is already a state tax stamp.
Start petitions, hold meetings give a Saturday afternoon toward the removal of the second class treatment of smokers! You could sit there and watch the game, but remember those players can afford to smoke! You're paying their salary and they are taking your cigarette money and spending it on their next trinket!
Our forefathers were men of substance! They were plantation owners, scientists, inventors, shop keepers, smiths, printers, and farmers. They took a small stipend for their service to the country while still minding their own businesses! Somewhere along the way the stipend became a paycheck. Now we the people are too stupid to know what is for our own good? I think we should show the Governments who's too stupid!
