The oil companies have "conditioned" us to price increases, and high prices! Most people would think that gasoline at $1.50 a gallon is cheap! I remember paying .509 (thats fifty point 9 a galon) when I started driving. They have conditioned us to believe that they deserve to be making more while we the working class have less and less!
FUEL PRICES dictate much in our world! Businesses are in business to MAKE MONEY! the cost of the prorduct is passed on to the consumer, and a sir charge also known as the PROFIT MARGIN. When fuel prices go up; when the employer has to pay the employee more; when the raw materials coast more, the cost of the product goes up! What, you thought these were nice people doing you a favor? Taxes on fuel are a percentage rate! To keep it simple, if gas costs $3.00 a gallon, and the taxes are 25% then $0.75 is the cost of taxes per gallon. Taxes are more like 45%, and at $3.00 per gal the taxes are $1.35. So the very people whom you put your faith in to look into the gouging are making more money by looking away! Thats how Exxon can afford to retire their CEO with a $400M retirement package! The oil companies were NOT happy at making a profit, they wanted more! Their stocks were at a stand still and after the Enron thing some started to fall. THINK ABOUT IT?

Why should Tricky Dicky and his buddies make ALL the money. The oil companies want some too! Our economy is just starting to really stabilize and these PUTZ gotta have all the pie and ice cream too!
