Wing Fans shocked and disturbed by Hockey's Brutality
Detroit ---- Detroit Red Wing Fans,
Murray and Mandy Fernmeld (seen above) recently attended a Red
Wing/Nashville Predators game and were amazed at the violence of the
game. "We went there expecting to see a exhibition of
skating at its finest. Ya know there is nothing I like to watch more
than Larry Murphy's fluid skating style, he's like greased lightning, ya
know. And instead it's all this checking and fighting!!
I was starting to fear for my safety and for my
wife".
The Fernmeld's reached the breaking
point after Red Wing forward Kirk Maltby brutalized Predator's center,
Randy Robitaillie, right in front of the traumatized couple from Pontiac,
MI. "Yeah, that Maltby guy just rushed up and
hit the other guy (Robitaillie) and pushed him right into the boards
there! Right in front of us, I spilled my Diet Sprite because it
really scared me. And Mandy! Let's just say,
I wished they sold panties at the concession stand cause she needed a new
pair after the scare she got. She just about jumped outta her
skin".
Mr Fernmeld immediately informed his
usher of the violence going on. "I wanted to report that Maltby
guy for cheating, cause I know hockey and I know you can't go around
hitting people like that. The dumb usher told me that checking
is part of the game! Do you believe that guy?! I got his
name and I will be reporting him to the Wings organization. I
mean, I've been coming to the Wings games since I was a little boy with my
dad. I saw some of the greats play and let me tell ya; Guys
like Gordie Howe or Ted Lindsay never hit anyone!!! I think I
represent all Red Wing fans and I think they don't want to see physical
hockey like this!"
