Firefly (yr 2)
Firefly jumped on the wind and, soaring higher and higher, thought she might look for the rainbow. She knew it loved to play hide and seek. "I wonder where it's hiding today?" she thought. The wind whispered the answer in her ear. "Thanks for the ride!" Firefly said as she jumped off. She danced across the sky, sailing from cloud to cloud. Finally she saw the snow-crested mountain peaks. Nestled in the deep mountain valley was the rainbow. Firefly laughed because under the rainbow was Blossom, sound asleep!
Skydancer (yr 2)
Skydancer loves to dance to the sound of the wind, especially when it flows through the clouds like the music of string harps. Dancing slowly, Skydancer's hooves move like little ballet slippers and her mane and tail form two beautiful rainbow arches. As the wind blows harder, the tempo increases.
Prancing up with her forelegs gracefully stroking the air and her neck arching, she pirouettes in tiny circles. Her pegasus wings are held lightly against her flanks, fluttering now and then to steady her.
Skydancer whirls and twirls until her rainbow hair wraps about her body like a multi-colored cloak. The other rainbow ponies watch in awe. They all agree that Skydancer is the most beautiful ballerina they have ever seen.
Pinwheel (yr 3)
Pinwheel was taking the baby ponies for an afternoon stroll when a sudden gust of wind blew Baby Firefly's bonnet high into the sky. The baby ponies giggled as the bonnet twirled around like a top, then fluttered to the ground. "The west wind is playing a game with us," Pinwheel explained. "Now it's our turn."
First, Pinwheel arranged hundreds of smooth, shiny pebbles in a large circle on the ground. With a blink of her eyes and a shake of her rainbow mane, Pinwheel's unicorn magic turned the stones into a brightly colored, spinning ferris wheel. "Hop on," Pinwheel said to the baby ponies, helping them into their seats.
As the west wind puffed harder and harder, the ferris wheel spun faster and faster.
"What a wonderful ride," the baby ponies exclaimed as the ferris wheel stopped. Pinwheel handed each baby pony a special pinwheel toy with her name on it as they jumped off the ride. What a wonderful afternoon it was, playing with the wind!
Tickle (yr 3)
The clock struck midnight and the baby ponies were still awake! "They've been tossing and turning all night," Mother Firefly fretted to her pegasus friend Tickle. "What can we do to get them to sleep?"
Tickle knew exactly what to do. While Firefly told the babies a bedtime story, she flew into the clouds, her rainbow mane trailing behind her. Hidden beneath a silver cloud was Tickle's pillowcase full of the beautiful, soft feathers.
She stuffed the feathers into a large comforter and made a fluffy feather bed for the baby ponies. They fell asleep immediately.
They were still asleep at breakfast time. Tickle gently brushed a long feather under each baby's nose. The baby ponies woke, feeling very frisky. Suddenly, feathers were flying everywhere as the baby ponies jumped up and down on their feather bed! Tickle and Firefly laughed and joined the baby ponies in a playful pillow fight.
Peachy [and the Pretty Parlor] (yr 2)
Peachy was adjusting her straw hat in the Pretty Parlor mirror when she saw it was five minutes before the hour. "It's almost time!" she told her pet kitty Twinkles. As she hooked up her bridle and saddle, Peachy offered Twinkles a ride. "We don't want to be late for today's tea party!" Quickly, Twinkles jumped on Peachy's back and they scurried out the door.
"Don't forget the flowers," reminded a mysterious voice. "Who said that?" Twinkles wondered. Looking towards the parlor, they heard the voice again.
"I said it. Me. The magical mirror! I didn't see you take the flowers, Peachy."
"Can mirrors really see things?" Peachy asked excitedly.
"Oh yes. Mirrors can see people as clearly as people can see mirrors. Hurry now, or you'll be late." Peachy grabbed the bouquet of flowers as Twinkles waved good-bye to the magical mirror. Peachy could hardly wait to tell her friends at the tea party all about the talking mirror. Afterwards, Peachy invited everyone to freshen up in the Pretty Parlor and talk to the magical mirror!
Baby Cotton Candy (yr 3)
Baby Cotton Candy was playing in her playpen when she spotted a big bouquet of flowers near the waterfall. She remembered Blossom giving them to her mother that morning. "Ummm, those flowers look delicious! They would make a yummy treat." She jumped out of her playpen, scooped up the flowers and scurried off behind the waterfall to munch on her sweet snack.
"Where are my beautiful flowers?" a voice echoed. It was Mother Cotton Candy looking for the bouquet!
Baby Cotton Candy ran off to find Blossom and explain what she had done. "You're as mischievous as your mother," Blossom laughed. "Because you told me the truth, I will give you another bouquet for your mother."
Blossom picked more flowers for Mother Cotton Candy and handed Baby Cotton Candy a special bouquet just for nibbling.
Backstroke (yr 3)
Splasher was playing with her turtle float on the shore when she heard splashing coming from the cove by the rocks. Quietly, she hid behind a rock to watch. Another baby sea pony was in the shallow water, bobbing its fins and flippers up and down. She was so graceful, gliding about in the water, just like they learned in swimming class.
"What a wonderful swimmer!" Splasher said out loud. The baby sea pony looked up in response to Splasher's voice. "Can you teach me to swim like that?" Splasher asked, joining her in the water. The two baby sea ponies swam and played together until it was time to go home.
"You swim so well that I'm going to call you Backstroke," Splasher laughed. From then on, Backstroke the baby sea pony, was known as the best swimmer in the sea and taught all the other sea ponies how to do the backstroke.
Sea Star (yr 3)
Sea Star was building a sandcastle when a giant wave hit the shore. All her hard work was washed out to sea! "My castle is ruined," she sighed. "If only I could build one that wouldn't fall, then my friends could play in it, too." Picking up her pail and shovel, Sea Star noticed the tide leaving hundreds of bright, sparkling shells on the shore. Quickly, she gathered as many shells as she could fit in her pail.
"What are you doing Sea Star?" asked Mr. Octopus who was sunbathing on a nearby rock. "I'm going to build a castle with these shells," she answered, excited about her idea. Mr. Octopus called Mrs. Jellyfish and together they made a magic paste to hold the shells in place. By sunset, Sea Star had the biggest, most beautiful castle on the beach.
That night, she invited all her ocean friends to a party in her lovely new shell castle. Even the waves dancing around the castle were happy that it didn't tumble.
Medley (yr 3)
Medley was sitting on a friendly cloud humming when Firefly flew up beside her. "Hello there, Medley," said Firefly. Medley waved her tail, and the gentle sound of a harp tinkled on the wind. "Why are you so quiet today?" asked Firefly. "I'm too hot to make much noise," answered Medley. "Let's call the rain to cool you off," Firefly said, then ran off to chase the /clouds, "Come on, Medley! Bring the drum!" Medley ran after her and stamped her hoofs. Soon the deep, rolling sound of a thunderous drum filled the air and a light, gentle rain began to fall.
Heart Throb (yr 3)
Heart Throb was finishing the lace booties for the Baby Ponies when she started designing the beautiful valentine card. "I'll give it to my favorite friend in pony land," she said to herself.
Heart Throb gathered some leftover lace from the booties, flowers from Posey's garden and heart-shaped pebbles she found near the waterfall. She placed a poem she had written directly in the center of a heart-shaped lace doily. Pasting it all together, Heart Throb signed the valentine and proudly presented it to the love birds the live under the waterfall.
Lickety-Split (yr 3)
The ponies were enjoying Majesty's birthday party in the Dream Castle garden when Lickety-Split announced she had a special surprise. As they sang Happy Birthday, Lickety kicked her heels twice and the mountains around the castle turned into giant scoops of vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream. Two smiling clouds poured hot fudge and whipped cream over the mountains while Cherries Jubilee flew up each creamy mountain and topped it with a bright red cherry.
"This is the best birthday surprise I've ever had," Majesty said handing Lickety-Split a heaping dish of chocolate ice cream.
Megan & Sundance (yr 3)
Everyday is a "sunny side up" day to Megan and Sundance! Brave and beautiful Megan and her spirited pony Sundance love to go where the rainbow takes them...in search of new friends and exciting adventures!
The colorful rainbow reaches down and then carries them up, up...all the way up to the Dream Castle. While visiting all their pony friends, Megan and Sundance enjoy sharing fun stories and good times.
(Since the box is so big, I only scanned parts of the front, and didn't include the border on the back.)
Speedy (yr 4/5)
The ponies decided to spend a rainy afternoon exploring the attic of the Paradise Estate. As they dug through the boxes, Speedy discovered a pair of blue roller skates with a note attached that (said) HANDLE WITH CARE. "What could be so special about an old pair of Skates?" she wondered. As soon as the rain stopped, Speedy and the other ponies raced outdoors to try out the skates. Carefully, she stepped into the skates when, suddenly, she was speeding along the ground, faster than a rocket! She zoomed up a hill and into the air, whooshing through a surprised cloud, before floating down to where Bouncy stood, laughing with delight. "What a ride," Speedy exclaimed. Then she asked with a big smile, "Who's next?"
Up, Up, and Away (yr 6)
Up, Up, and Away was so busy tying bunches of colorful balloons to baskets that she didn't notice the other ponies watching her. "What are you making?" Love Melody asked her curiously. "It's a surprise!" Up, Up, and Away answered her friend with a giggle. "Hop in," she told everyone as she finished attaching the last balloon. She blinked her eyes and the baskets rose high into the sky. Then Up, Up, and Away wiggled her nose and the baskets formed a circle, whirling and twirling, just like a floating ferris wheel! The ponies laughed and cheered, enjoying the ride. As Up, Up, and Away joined the spinning wheel, the rainbow gently lifted her basket to the top and released all the balloons into the sky for a happy ending to a wonderful ride.
Merriweather (yr 6)
Merriweather likes to go on summer picnics. One day she packed a basket of snacks and skipped to a field of soft grass. As she opened her picnic basket, a dark cloud floated by and began to rain on her! Merriweather winked at the cloud, turning the raindrops into tiny rainbows. "What a beautiful day for a picnic!" she laughed, nibbling a slice of watermelon.
Sherbet (yr 6)
On hot summer days Sherbet flies to a fragrant valley where tropical fruit grows. She fills a basket with fruit and heads to the Satin Slipper Sweet Shoppe to create cool tropical treats for all her friends. She adds magical powder to the sundaes so that the ponies taste a different fruit flavor with each sweet spoonful! They happily agree that this tasty treat is "Sherbet's Surprise"!
Crunch Berry (yr 6)
Near the licorice stick forest is a magnificent hill made of rich chocolate. Crunch Berry chips off bits of chocolate from the hill, mixes them with honey-dipped sugar crystals, then lets the gooey mixture simmer in the sunshine for a hot fudge topping that's Sun-sational! Her friends always meet her at the Satin Slipper Sweet Shoppe when Crunch Berry makes her tasty treat!
Windy (yr 6)
One March day, Windy was flying her colorful new kite in the cool spring breeze. Suddenly a gust of wind carried her kite into a tree! Windy tugged on the string, but it was hopelessly tangled in the branches. "Mr. Tree, could you untangle my kite?" asked Windy. The tree wiggled his leaves and slipped the kite off his branches, gently placing it on the ground. Windy winked an eye at the tree and filled his branches with big red apples to thank him for freeing her kite!
Twisty Tail (yr 6)
At Twisty Tail's slumber party, the ponies dressed in their nighties, then munched snacks in the living room. "Let's try new hair styles," Twisty Tail suggested. Combs and curlers were scattered everywhere as the ponies styled each other's hair. As Bouquet brushed Twisty Tail's hair, she noticed streaks of color appearing with every stroke. "Your hair is changing color!" Bouquet cried. "I tried a new rainbow rinse and it really works," Twisty Tail laughed, passing it to the others to try.
Curly Locks (yr 6)
It was the day of the Pony Springtime Ball. Curly Locks arrived at the Pony Perm Shoppe to find that Fifi had no more ribbons to decorate the ponies' hair! Curly Locks noticed beautiful flowers growing outside the window of the Perm Shoppe. She quickly raced outside and gathered colorful flower petals in a basket. When she blinked her eyes at the basket, the petals turned into silky ribbons! Curly Locks returned to the Pony Perm Shoppe to surprise Fifi with her basket of magical ribbons! TT's box front is shown because it is in slightly better condition, and I didn't want to do all that scanning again. :)
Glow (yr 6)
Glow flew through the evening sky with fireflies lighting her way. They flitted around her, making pretty designs with their blinking lights. Glow sat on a fluffy cloud to watch them form the sparkling shapes. When Mr. Sun rose in the sky, the fireflies nestled into flowers to sleep. Glow snuggled into bed, too, to dream of fireflies twinkling in the starry sky.
It's unusual, but you can sometimes buy/trade for backcards. I have 2 stories ("Canadian" Cotton Candy & "UK" Flowerburst), one plush w/tag (Windy), and a MIB Baby Drummer so far.
I discovered that Hasbro has copies of some instructions on their web site. Some of them also contain a story, which I have included at the bottom.
Cotton Candy (from yr 2 version) Canadian Card
Cotton Candy galloped out of the stable garden with Blossom hot on her heels. "At least she's stopped eating my beautiful flowers," Blossom whinnied as she stopped chasing her. Cotton Candy slowed to a trot. She was forever getting into mischief, mostly because she tried to find her sweet treats in Blossom's garden. "I'll visit my mountain friends. I think the wild flowers will be out in the valley. Yum!" she said happily, licking her lips.
Flowerburst - UK box! (shows only 4 Sweetheart Sisters)
It was the night of the Ponyland Ball and everyone wondered who would be crowned the Queen. As Flowerburst dressed, a mysterious package was delivered with her name on it. Inside was a beautiful floral bouquet! Flowerburst pinned it to her gown and entered the ballroom, hoping to discover who sent the bouquet. She asked everyone, but no one knew. When it was time to crown the Queen, the bouquet magically bloomed into a shimmering crown covered with flowers and pearls that Dainty placed on Flowerburst's head.
Baby Drummer - Mint In Box!
The Ponyland Parade was about to start, but the marching band needed one more drummer. Baby Drummer wanted very much to play in the band but the drum was too big for him to carry. Baby Leaper knew exactly what to do. He clicked his heels while counting "1-2-3" and ...ZAP ...the drum became just the right size for Baby Drummer! With the band complete, Baby Drummer proudly marched in front, tapping a cheerful "RAT-A-TAT-TAT" on his new drum!

Paradise Estate (Hasbro site instructions copy)
The Ponies were spending a relaxing afternoon at Paradise Estate when Shady burst onto the patio. "My sunglasses are missing!" she cried anxiously.
Cupcake, who was preparing a snack in the kitchen, raced outside. "What's all the fuss about?" she asked. "Shady lost her sunglasses," Sweet Stuff answered between sips of pink lemonade. "My MAGIC sunglasses," Shady corrected her. "And they do some strange things," she warned.
The ponies organized a search party to look for the glasses. Truly inspected the living room, but all she found was Wind Whistler dancing around the room with stereo headphones wrapped over her ears. Ribbon checked the nursery but had to be very, very quiet because the baby ponies were taking a nap. Fizzy hunted outdoors, clumsily knocking over chairs as she looked around. But the sunglasses were no where to be found! The ponies met on the patio, hoping someone had found the glasses. "No luck," Shady sighed disappointedly.
Just then a large THUMP came from the direction of the swimming pool. There was Ripple, the baby sea pony, sitting on the bottom of the empty pool, wearing Shady's sunglasses. "Where'd the water go?" she asked, not realizing the magic sunglasses made the pool appear full.
The ponies laughed as they filled the pool. When the pool was full, Shady's sunglasses made the waves jump up, down and around for a magical game of water tag. "Jump in," Shady urged, passing her sunglasses to the next swimmer on the diving board. The ponies splished and splashed for the rest of the afternoon, happy that Shady's sunglasses had been found.

Satin Slipper Sweet Shoppe (Hasbro site instructions copy)
"Strawberry, vanilla and chocolate chip, too! Satin Slipper Sweet Shoppe has sweet treats for you!" chanted Scoops happily as she got ready for opening day at the Satin Slipper Sweet Shoppe. She knew her pony friends always enjoyed her delicious ice cream desserts. But when she opened the door to the shop, no ponies were in sight! "They don't know the shop is open!" thought Scoops. Quickly, she flew high above the Satin Slipper Sweet Shoppe. She wove a ray of sunshine into the shape of an ice cream cone and rolled a fluffy, white cloud on top ot the shining cone. As a final touch, she sprinkled rainbow dew on the cloud to make it sparkle like colorful candy sprinkles. The ponies saw the gigantic ice cream cone floating in the sky and eagerly followed it to the Satin Slipper Sweet Shoppe. "Roseberry ice cream with rainbow sprinkles, please!" cried North Star to Scoops. "A hot fudge sundae with strawberry ice cream for me, please," said Slugger. Kicking her heels with delight, Scoops created the delectible desserts and happily served them to the excited pones. "Hooray for Scoops and the Satin Slipper Sweet Shoppe!" cried the ponies as they nibbled their sweet treats. They couldn't wait to see what tomorrow's ice cream special-of-the-day would be!
Poof 'n Puff Perfume Palace (Hasbro site instructions copy)
Princess Dawn eagerly rummaged in her closet to find a beautiful gown to wear to the Royal Ball. She tried on a dazzling dress that glimmered with jewels. "Now for the finishing touch!" she thought, glancing at one of her perfume bottles. Suddenly, she had a spectacular idea! She raced to a nearby field and placed the perfume bottle on the ground. Calling upon all her Princess Pony magic, Princess Dawn blinked her eyes twice. POOF! PUFF! The perfume bottle grew and g-r-e-w until it was just the right size for the ponies to go inside! The ponies gathered around to admire the magical new place as Princess Dawn opened the door and stepped inside. "Welcome to the Poof 'n Puff Perfume Palace!" Princess Dawn exclaimed, wrapping a feathered boa around her neck and tossing a glittering scarf to Buttons. With a mischievous giggle, Princess Dawn squeezed the bulb on top of the palace, spraying all her friends with a beautiful perfume scent! "What a scent-sational place to get ready for the Royal Ball!" laughed the ponies, stepping happily inside the pretty palace.
Pony Perm Shoppe (Hasbro site instructions copy)
Taffy awoke to find a curler lying beside her bed. Rolled inside the curler was a note that read, "Bring this curler to the Pony Perm Shoppe for a special surprise!" When she arrived at the shop, she found all her friends gathered outside the door, each holding a note just like hers! "I wonder what the surprise is," wondered Taffy to her friends. Just then, the door to the Perm Shoppe swung open, and Fifi appeared with fabulous curls tumbling down her back. The ponies eagerly entered the shop, peeking in the rooms for their surprise. Fifi smiled mischievously at her curious friends, then began to wash Taffy's hair. Next she sprayed Taffy's hair with a mysterious solution from a glistening bottle, and rolled her hair in curlers. In just a few minutes, she unrolled her hair and combed it out. "What gorgeous curls!" cried Locket. "They're just a beautiful as Fifi's!" cried Love Melody. "Surprise!" cried Fifi with delight. "Introducing Fifi's Fashion Foam!" The other ponies could hardly wait for their turn to use Fifi's Fashion Foam and see what spectacular results it would bring!
