Picture Dominoes

These are cute!!  It is an early game (1983!).  Each "domino" is a little bigger than a business card.  Two dominoes make a pony.  Dominoes are also numbered (1 to 36) with matching sides having the same number.

There are 12 ponies (Moondancer, Moonstone, Sunbeam, Skydancer, Starshine, Firefly, Applejack, Lemon Drop, Sunlight, Bow Tie, Seashell, Cotton Candy) each shown in 3 different poses.

Memory Matching Game

(Instructions are on the outside bottom of box)

For 2, 3, or 4 Players                Ages 3 and Up

OBJECT

To match a card showing the front of pony with the rear of the same pony at the same time matching the two halves of his name -- Beware the ponies appear on various sets of cards in different stances (poses) so make sure the two halves match perfectly.  The object is to collect the most matching sets.

LET'S GET READY TO PLAY

Separate and shuffle the 72 cards (36 pairs) and place them face down on a table.  Now with the cards still face down (don't peek!) form 9 rows of cards with 8 cards in each row leaving a little space around each card.

TO PLAY

One player is chosen to go first.  He takes his turn by turning over any two cards.  The cards must be turned over in place so all the other players may see them and try to memorise [memorize] their position.

If the two cards do NOT match, the player turns both cards face down again and his turn ends.  The play now moves around the table to the next player.

If the two cards match the player takes these two cards places them in front of him.

He may now turn over two more cards -- his turn continues as long as he selects matching cards -- and ends when he turns over a pair that does not match.

The game continues until all the cards are picked and taken away.

WINNING THE GAME

The player who collects the most matching sets wins the game!
