Mavrick is my devil reincarnated. She is from a litter of 9 puppies. When I first seen her she reminded me of a skunk. She had a white strip from the top of her head to 1/2 way down her neck. And what a little stinker she was. Coming from a litter of 9 puppies, Mavrick could create more trouble than all the other puppies put together. I had fully intended to place all the puppies from this litter but I just couldn't seem to give up Mavrick. Everytime someone would come and look at her I would tell them everything bad that she did. "She's really bad, the devil reincarnated. She chews, she chases, she never stops" I'd say. Well needless to say no one wanted a dog like that. Because I was trying to convince myself that I was going to place her, I showed her one weekend when she was 6 months old then I didn't show her again. She won her junior puppy bitch class 2 out of 3 days and place 2nd the third day against 5 other dogs. Who was I kidding though. I never had any intension on selling this beautiful dog. She was my kind of girl. Full of herself, and full of life. Mavrick was shown again at 13 months and won Best of Opposite and Best of Winners over the weekend. Again she was put away for awhile as my husband tried to convince me I should sell her. When I decided she was no longer for sale and I broke this new to my husband I began to show her again. Once again, she won Best of Opposite under her brother Berry and Best of Winners 2 out of 3 days. Mavrick has been started in obedience now and is my demo dog for obedience classes. She loves to please and would flip cartwheels if I asked her. She has a very strong working drive and excellent balance on livestock. Although she took a kick to the head that knocked her out a year ago her drive has not waivered. Mavrick will be showen to her championship in 2005 and I hope to put her CD on her before the end of the year. She will also be started in Agility and Flyball during the sping and summer.
Mavrick is outgoing, energetic and loves life to the fullest. She has a smile that would blow your socks off. Ear to ear and all teeth showing. |
