Due to a mix up at the CKC when I was registering my kennel name (Vantastic was my first choice for my kennel name), "Berry" carries Vantastic in front of his name instead of Ringkona. He is however from the first litter bred by Ringkona Kennels Reg'd. I had picked two puppies from the litter as show prospects but at just 8 weeks of age the other puppy was very attached to me and not outgoing towards others. This is a trait of their fathers. Although not a bad trait I was looking for a show dog that loved the world. A dog who thought the world revolved around him and that he was the best looking animal in the world. With Berry's outgoing personality he "fit the bill". Although he has been shown very little, he took the show ring by storm when he won a Best of Opposite and a Puppy breed at just 6 months. He was just over a year old when he went to his next show and really turned some heads. He won two group 3's and a group 4 over specials and was now on 9 points. Due to other commitments he was only entered for one day at his next show. He didn't disappoint me though as he won another group 4 to finish his championship. In April of 2003 Berry was brought out again for a couple of shows. This time he won a couple of Group 2's and a Group 1. I was joking with some friends after the Group 1 win and told them that I had all the ribbons now except the BIG red, white and blue Best In Show ribbon. Berry, being a dog to always try and please me, won a BIS ribbon in July of 2003.
Berry is a dog with syle and movement. His love of showing is obvious as he sails around the ring with his head up and look at me attitude. He is a friendly outgoing dog who is total dedicated to his family. |
