Why did you have to leave me?
Do you understand the tears that I cry?
You were one of my best friends.
I'll never forget you.
It was only yesterday that you walked me home,
And sat next to me on my driveway.
Last night we talked about going to the movies
Planning to have fun.
The happiness never came,
We never got to the movies,
You never came back from the operating table.
I know that you are up there,
in heaven,
Probably crying to be so far away.
Perhaps, someday, the pain will die away.
I know you will enjoy knowing the Secret of Life.
Maybe, one day, you will come down and whisper it in my ear.
I look forward to that day.
