"My dear Frodo. Hobbits really are amazing creatures. You can learn all that there is to know about their ways in a month, and yet after a hundred years they can still surprise you." Gandalf to Frodo before he leaves the Shire on his quest. |

At present there are no pieces
of literature in Hobbiton. The Hobbits are all quite saddened, and are
even considering foregoing Elevensies until someone writes a well enough
piece to entertain them! That is quite a sad state when Hobbits consider
foregoing a meal for Hobbits have good appetites and do so enjoy all
the meals they have of a day. Should anyone have some writing the Hobbits
would enjoy they should please contact Mereiswen or Elrenia, and should
it be considered acceptable it will be hosted here for the Hobbits to
enjoy over breakfast, second breakfast, elevensies, luncheon, afternoon
tea, dinner or supper. I suspect some might even arise late at night
for a snack or two because that is the kind of thing a Hobbit would
do.

Submission Guidelines
Writings should be about Lord of the Rings, either the movies or the books. Please send an email about the piece of writing, and in the subject clearly state which kind of writing it is (see the list below), and in the body of the email clearly state the title, rating (for the protection of the readers), a link to your writing (we are limited in space here. Poems can be sent to us directly if not too long), and your name and whether you want your email made visible so readers can contact you with feedback. RULE 1:Totally unacceptable pieces of writings would be those dealing solely with sex and barely any story, those filled without reason with foul language, and those that have nothing to do with Lord of The Rings. If your work is accepted you will be given notice that you have been added. If your work has not been accepted you will get a polite note saying why. RULE 2:Spelling does count. Please try to use a program that will help you with spelling or grammar, like Microsoft Word or Wordpad for example. Some website building programs have spell checkers also. Make it easy for readers to understand your work. Make the file, if sending it to us, a .doc or .txt document. RULE 3:Please send a link to your piece of writing unless it is short and we are able to make a page for it. RULE 4:Cross-overs are a rare breed. This is where you can submit writings that feature Lord of The Rings, and include another movie or show or book into it. But the main focus must be Lord of The Rings. Short stories are less than 5 pages. Long stories more than 5. If poems are more than two pages you will be asked to sent a link only, but if shorter than two pages you can send the poem in for us to add to a page of our own. Just about everything else are those pesky little things that you can't exactly put into one category only like songs or essays, etc... For big Hobbits are more mature stories and include mature themes not suitable for little Hobbits' eyes. Very funny indeed are for those writings that make Hobbits laugh so hard they fall off their soft chairs by the fire and are taken by fits of giggles. SEND TO:Mereiswen, Elrenia or Ring Quest Sisters. Give us a few days to a week to reply. We do have lives outside of Middle Earth, and can be unable to contact you the same day you sent your information. If after a week you have not heard from one of us try to contact one of us again, perhaps one of the other email addresses. Please send to only one email address so we are not inundated with emails and cannot get to any at all. That would so be unfair, and could cause serious starvation in Hobbiton. And starving Hobbits are a sad sight indeed. |
