The Build of Hatchi Dori
The first stop for the car was to Motion Motorsports to help prep the chassis.  With their guidance and assistance the car was completely stripped and preped for building into a racec car.

Honestly, I really underestimated this step.  I thought it was just about pulling carpeting and plastic pannels but things like the heater core, windshield and the million fasteners proved to be a lot more than I expected.
After the car had been thuroughly stripped the car was taken to GOTO:Racing to have them build a cage for the car.  The did a fantastic job getting the cage right up close to the frame.  The door bars were extended into the driver's door to brovide as much room between the cage and driver.

Now that the major work was done on the car we started putting it back together.  We tuned the engine, ajdusted the suspension, fabricated some aero parts.  Because this car is quite old there isn't a whole lot in the parts department for this car so most stuff has to be modified or fabricated.  We took the car to a local autocross to shake down the car.

The car is now regularly taken on the track for testing.  We have some minor suspension issues to work out and some serious horsepower to find.
Just as things were starting to look like they were going to come together I made the bad decision of trying to fix what isn't broken.  The entire igntion system has been removed and custom parts made to run a modern day electronic advance distributor.

After much struggling getting the new setup to work it seems like the car is runnig reliably now.  There are still some bugs to work out of the system but I'm confident that tuning the fuel maps will smooth things out.
