SHOWMANSHIP HORROR!
2000 Maniacs was a perfect chance for Dad to show off his "Bally-Hoo" skills. He had two employee's walking the front of the theatre with bloody limbs galore! Later, the "appendage" was hung below the marquee...in all its bloody splendor! How cool is this?  Dad did all the make-up and effects. This stuff would raise an eyebrow or two today I'm sure. This was one of the coolest promotions I had seen...and introduced me to the work of H.G. Lewis.

Dad had this coffin custom made by The Carolina Casket Company for $5.00. One of my "Joe"s provides the body.

One of the most memorable promotions was for a movie called "The Head". The distributor had provided some sort of "animated" head that Dad displayed INSIDE the popcorn warmer which sat outside of the lobby at the sidewalk. The head would wriggle and "beg" passers by for a "cool drink of water". Needless to say...popcorn sales were a little off...but we had some fun!

The Greenporker made an appearance as "DRACULA" to promote this Late Show at Parkwood in 1973.
