It’s amazing how Bill “fatcat” Sizemore continually gets publicized as a “taxpayer” advocate. Just shows what a truly lapdog media we have! Despite neither proposing or supporting ANY measure that would reduce spending he gets this ill deserved reputation.
What has Sizemore done for working Oregonians? His property tax measures have put the price of housing beyond the reach of most working people in this state - while shifting the tax burden from low income to the people who write campaign checks. His latest scam - which is well timed since larger numbers of Oregonians pay over $3000 in federal taxes - would give a large number of taxpayers tax relief of up to $100 or more; a much smaller group get thousands of dollars of relief - they write the campaign checks. Most Oregonians are now paying a marginal tax rate of 9%; an issue that Sizemore has absolutely refused to address - despite repeated proposals by myself and others about retroactively indexing the tax rates. That’s a tax cut proposal that would benefit nearly every Oregonian - but you won’t hear it from Sizmore. Instead of indexing the discontinued HARRP program and provide real property tax relief for Oregonians on fixed incomes [the group Sizemore exploited to pass measure 5] he proposed one that benefits only those who write campaign checks. What a joke!
