There are way too many analogies between the vile War on Drugs and the equally vile and equally inane Cold War. Both "wars" were black holes for taxpayers with each new expensive weapon for the "good guys" leading to more danger posed by the "bad guys". Both wars were rife with media distortions, hysterical fearmongering and outright lies blatantly printed by today's lapdog media. Both wars negatively impacted the lives and freedoms of otherwise innocent law abiding citizens. Whereas the Cold War totally wasted over 2 trillion dollars of taxpayer money - as opposed to less than half a billion for the WOD - the effects were mostly felt abroad where US "clients" tortured and killed millions for the cause. Most victims of crime and all persons living in crime infested areas can thank the WOD for their misery; without it, and the profit generated by government policy, there would be far less crime. Ironically, there was an overlap of the 2 wars when the Reagan administration worked with drug dealers to fund client terrorists in Nicaragua. This involved the complicity of the last 2 US presidents and was deliberately not reported by the lapdog media - who have not directly contradicted ANY of the serious allegations made. The GT has never come out against EITHER war and therefore has no credibility whatsoever on real crime or defense issues.

The new jail measure will not solve the crime problem - it's real for victims, even if it is a creation of government policy. With no leadership from either major party and the total lack of local 3rd party candidates, voters are in a double bind. I'm still voting no an ALL mass incarceration scams in every election. Local police have no credibility either, since their ONLY concern demonstrated is about maintaining their budgets. This is the only way we can get their attention.
