Our two parties show citizen taxpayers no respect. They tell us to expect peace – without justice! Investors discover that it’s cheaper to get resources by making a small handful of autocrats obscenely wealthy rather than paying fair prices to nation’s citizenry. It becomes even cheaper when they sell autocrats weaponry to keep power. When taxpayers subsidize weapons development for ‘national security’ it gets even cheaper. Can you say ‘vicious cycle’? Can you say ‘protection racket’?
Obviously, fair prices would equal higher energy costs. Can you say ‘alternative energy’? Instead the rest of us bail out these risky investments with even more costly military intervention. This cost is paid with deficits – not by investors. Bush gives them tax breaks – while we rescue their bacon. Can you say ‘welfare’?
The Arab community makes the connection. Sorry Mr. Kerry, but so do our allies. Like Bush, terrorist leaders have no interest in justice. If they began systematically assassinating top investors and major political contributors they would send an unmistakable message for those advocating ‘business as usual’ in the Arab world. They chose 911 and 311 for two reasons:
1] They get massive retaliations that enrage the Arab community and enhance their personal power.
2] If they gain control it makes no sense to kill off future business clients who will provide money for military hardware to keep them in power.
Instead they pursue actions that maximize harm to innocent people. Can you say ‘chump’ in both English AND Arabic?
