Vice President Boediono has reminded all parties of the importance of maintaining long-term relations with Australia.
"Despite one or two problems, relations between the two neighboring countries should be well maintained," Boediono said at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, on Friday as quoted by Antara news agency.
The Vice President said that being located adjacent to each other; some problems might arise between the two countries.
"Sometimes the current problems are almost the same as those that have existed in the past. However, based on past experiences, those problems can be settled," Boediono noted. He added that he hoped the issues would not damage the two countries' relations in the long term.
Monash University is the third campus visited by the Vice President during his state visit to Australia from Nov. 10 until Nov. 16.
