The Realm of the Strange and the Unknown                           

A few strange facts :-

1.) The rarest disease in the world, called Kuru or laughing sickness, affects only the cannibals of New Guinea and is believed to be caused by eating human brains.

2.) The nerve system in the human brain has a greater number of possible connections than there would be in a unilateral  telephone exchange that provided one line to every person living on earth.

3.) It is impossible to sneeze and keep your eyes open at the same time.

4.) Every square inch of human skin consists of 19 million cells , sixty hairs , ninety oil glands , nineteen feet of blood vessels , 625 sweat glands , and 19,000 sensory cells.

5.) A human hair laid on a bar of steel and then passed through a cold rolling mill would leave an imprint on the face of the steel.

6.) If all the blood vessels in your body were straightened out and placed end to end , they would be 100,000 miles long , or long enough to go around the equator four times.

7.)  People who have never married are 71/2 times more likely to be hospitalized in a state or community psychiatric facility than those who are married.
