| Qualities
of a good husband
Posted 22.July.2002
1. He provides for her needs.
"So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies;
he who loves his wife loves himself. Fo no one ever hated his own
flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the
church." (Eph. 5:28-29, New King James Version)
2. He is faithful to her.
"Marriage is to be honored by all, and husbands and wives must
be faithful to each other. God will judge those who are immoral and
those who commit adultery." (Heb. 13:4, Today's English
Version)
3. He is never harsh with her.
"Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them."
(Col.3:19, Ibid.)
4. He treats her with respect.
"Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your
wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as
heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will
hinder your prayers." (I Pt. 3:7, New International Version)
5. He sacrifices for her.
"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the
church and gave Himself for it." (Eph. 5:25, NKJV)

Qualities
of a good wife
1. She respects his authority.
"Wives, be subject to your husbands, as to the Lord. For the
husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church,
his body, and is himself its Savior. ... and let the wife see that
she respects her husband." (Eph. 5:22-23, 33, RSV)
2. She lovingly expresses herself to him.
"She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law
of kindness." (Prov. 31:26, New King James Version)
3. She is his faithful companion.
"For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her
husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is
released from the law of her husband." (Rom 7:2, NKJV)
4. She keeps a beauty that exudes from within her.
"Do not let your beauty be that outward adorning of arranging
the hair, of wearing gold, or of putting on fine apparel; but let it
be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible ornament
of gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of
God." (I Pt. 3:3-4, Ibid.)
5. She makes the home a nice place to live in.
"She watches over the affairs of her household ad does not eat
the bread of idleness." (Prov. 31:27, New International
Version)
