Ghalon was one of the dwarves that fought at the side of Palanar. He and Palanar had wandered throughout the megaverse for about 30 years. It was Ghalon who carried the wounded Palanar away from the lair of the Alien Intelligence after he had been mortally wounded. Ghalon fought off the few remaining minions of the Intelligence, protecting Palanar from further harm. Not until they reached the Haven under the Mountain did Ghalon notice he was also mortally wounded. As a reward for valiantly aiding and protecting their champion, the dwarves of the Haven offered to make Ghalon into a rune shield before his life essence passed away. Ghalon agreed and was put into a deep blue sapphire soul gem and placed in the middle of a shimmering gray shield adorned with black runes. He became Ghalon the protector and he was never taken from Palanar even when the raiders took them both away. Somehow they stayed a pair as they hopped from master to master throughout the megaverse. One destroying the dishonorable and the other defending the honorable.

2. Alignment: Aberrant with a strong sense of Honor. Can be used by any alignments except Miscreant or Diabolic. If they try to lift the shield or protect themselves with it they will find it either too heavy or the shield will dodge strikes so that their wielder will get hit by the blow

7. Grows and shrinks to be proportional to the wielder.
