This page contains the names of ranks who have retired from the Guyana Police Force after completing long and dedicated service, and attaining the mandatory age of retirement.
Superintendent Terrence Ralph (6890) April 1st, 1999.
Senior Superintendent Meredith Barker (6965)proceeded on leave prior to retirement on February 22nd, 2000. At the time he was the Deputy Traffic Officer.
Inspector Abdool Gafoor (11215). He proceeded on leave prior to retirement on 7th March, 2000.
Assistant Superintendent Enid Moore (W195) retired from the Force on July 1st, 2000, after serving over 31 years. Most of her service has been as a Trooper at the Mounted Branch.
Superintendent Vibert Smith retired from the Force on August 1st, 2000, after serving for over 33 years.
Superintendent Dempsey Jervis (6938). September 1 st, 2000. Superintendent Jervis at the time of his retirement was the Deputy Band Master.
Deputy Commissioner Henry Chester DSM (7294) proceeded on leave prior to retirement on the 29 th September 2000.
Senior Superintendent Cedrick Boston (7848) proceeded on leave prior to retirement on October 13 th, 2000. At the time Boston was the second in command of 'E&F' Divisions, and was based at Linden.
Superintendent Phillip Albert proceeded on leave prior to retirement on the 19 th October, 2000. He was the force Transport Officer at the time of his retirement. Albert spent a number of years at the Presidential Guard before taking up his appointment as the Transport Officer.
Deputy Superintendent Udit Jagdeo (7432) retired from the force on the 1 st August, 2000. He was based in 'D' Division at the time of his retirement.
Detective Chief Inspector Vincent Shury (8659) retired from the force on the 1 st November, 2000. He was stationed in "D' Division at the time of his retirement.

Sergeant Melroy Fitzalbert (7160). He was stationed at the Presidential Guard for most of his service.
Sergeant Arnold Archer (8125) retired from the force on the 1 st September, 2000. Archer was stationed at the Construction Section.
Sergeant Vibert Roberts (9143) retired from the force on the 1 st October, 2000. Roberts was for a long time a driver at the Tactical Services unit. At the time of his retirement he was seconded to the Ministry of Home Affairs as a driver.
Sergeant Telbert Anderson (11432) retired from the force on the 1 st October, 2000. He was stationed in 'A' Division.
Sergeant Wilfred Kendall (7927). He was stationed in 'B' Division.
Woman Superintendent Lucy Braithwaite. She retired at the end of March 2001.Lucy served in recent times at Force Control and as the Welfare Officer.
Assistant Superintendent Harrydeo Premsukh (7239) retired from the force on the 1st April, 2001. Premsukh last served at Brickdam.
Assistant Superintendent Royston Adams (7536) retired from the force on the 1st February, 2001. At the time of his retirement he was stationed at the Criminal Investigations Headquarters Department, Eve Leary.
Chief Inspector Hardeo Sukhai (7149) retired from the force on the 1st February, 2001. At the time of his retirement he was stationed on the East Coast of Demerara "C" Division.
Sergeant Dennis Braithwaite (7688) retired from the force on 1st February 2001. Braithwaite served for a number of years as a member of the Presidential Guard.
Sergeant Henry Abrams (Wintz) (8100) retired from the force on February 1st 2001. At the time of his retirement he was stationed in "A" Division.
Station Sergeant Kerry Barker (8170) retired from the force on the 1st March 2001. At the time of his retirement he was stationed at Force Control, Eve Leary.
Station Sergeant Stanislaus Martin (0816) retired from the force on the 1st March 2001. Martin was the driver of the Commissioner of Police.
Inspector Thomas Fortune (8230) retired from the force on the 1st April, 2001. Fortune served for a number of years in the interior division. At the time of his retirement he was stationed in "B" Division.
Sergeant Romeo O'Brien (9991) retired from the force on the 1st May, 2001.O'Brien was for a number of years stationed at the Police Transport Workshop. At the time of his retirement he was stationed in "C" Division.
Woman Chief Inspector Pansy Bailey (0830) retired from the force on 1st July, 2001. Bailey worked for a number of years at the General Office, Force Headquarters, Eve Leary. At the time of her retirement she was stationed at the Court Superintendent's Office "A" Division.
Chief Inspector Triston Emanuel (7706) retired from the force on 1st July, 2001. "Manny" was a well known traffic cop in "A" Division. At the time of his retirement he was stationed at Traffic Headquarters, Eve Leary.
Assistant Superintendent Ivelaw Garraway (8233) retired from the force on the 1st July, 2001. Garraway served for most of his service at the Presidential Guard.
Corporal David Alleyne (7870) retired from the force on the 1st July, 2001. Alleyne served for a number of years at the Tactical service Unit (T.S.U). He would also be remembered as an amatuer heavy weight boxer for the force. At the time of his retirement he was stationed in the interior.
Woman Sergeant Stubil Payne (0567) retired from the force on the 1st September, 2001. At the time of her retirement she was stationed at the Criminal Investigations Department Registry Brickdam.
Inspector George Fraser (8679) retired from the force on the 1st October, 2001.
Chief Inspector Michael Edwards (7392) retired from the force on the 1st November, 2001. Edwards was a member of the Police Military Band.
Corporal Hubert Henry (8316) retired from the force on the 1st November, 2001.
Sergeant Phillip Lovell (7453) retired from the force on the 1st November, 2001. At the time of his retirement he was stationed at Brickdam, "A" Division.
Chief Inspector Thomas Munroe (7639) retired from the force on the 1st December, 2001. At the time of his retirement he was stationed at Brickdam, "A" Division.
Corporal Winston Issacs (7861) "Ropopo", retired from the force on the 1st December, 2001. At the time of his retirement he was stationed at the Tactical Services Unit (T.S.U).
Woman Sergeant Claudia Semple (W203) retired from the force on the 1st December, 2001. At the time of her retirement she was stationed in "A" Division.
Sergeant Bhupaul Persaud (7402) retired from the Guyana Police Force on January 1st, 2002.
Woman Assistant Commissioner Carlotta Dodson, D.S.M (W142)retired from the force on the 1 st February, 2002. Carlotta at the time of her retirement was the Deputy Chief Immigration Officer. She was for a number of years attached to the confidential registry of the Commissioner of Police.
Superintendent Eustace John (8452) "BoB Marley" retired from the Guyana Police Force on March 1st, 2002. At the time of his retirement he was the Force Quartermaster. John was a member of the famed Poilce male Voice Choir. He was also know for his passionate involvement in dominoes.
Detective Assistant Commissioner Kennard Barran (7189), April 30, 2002. At the time of his retirement he was stationed at the Criminal Investigations Department Headquarters.
Superintendent Duncan Joseph (8041) retired from the Guyana Police Force on May 1st, 2002. At the time he was the Officer in-charge on the Police Communications Workshop.
Woman Station Sergeant Pamela Forde (W306) proceeded on leave prior to retirement on May 15th, 2002. At the time she was stationed in 'E' Division (Linden).
Woman Senior Superintendent Lynette Carter (W114) proceeded on leave prior to retirement on the 13th February, 2002. Carter served in many areas in the force and at the time of her retirement she was the head of the Research and Planning Department. It has been observed that Carter was the last remaining police woman who joined the force prior the independence. With her retirement an era has come to an end.

Senior Superintendent Whittington Braithwaite (7689) proceeded on leave prior to retirement on the 11 th June, 2002. At the time of proceeding on leave he was the Second in Command of Operations. "Whittie" will be remembered as a stalwart of the Presidential Guard in the "Old Days".
Deputy Superintendent Mervin Felix (8860) Proceeded on leave prior to retirement on June 23rd, 2002. He was stationed in 'D' Division.
Chief Inspector Ulric Dean (8221) retired from the Guyana Police Force on July 1st 2002. At the time of his retirement he was attached to the Office of Professional Responsibility.
Senior Superintendent Eon David, D.S.M (7506) proceeded on leave prior to retirement on the 8 th of June, 2002. At the time of proceeding on leave he was stationed at the criminal Investigations Department Headquarters.
Senior Superintendent Letelle Dejonge, D.S.M (7809) proceeded on leave prior to retirement in july, 2002. At the time of proceeding on leave he was the Officer in Command of "D" Division.
Woman Corporal Bridget Braithwaite (W363) proceeded on leave prior to retirement on July 17th, 2002. At the time she was statined in "A" Division and attached to the Court Superintendent's Office.
Woman Constable Carmen Cornette (15623) retired from the Guyana Police Force on August 1st, 2002.
Sergeant Samuel Isaccs (7624) proceeded on leave prior to retirement on August 2nd, 2002. At the time he was statione in 'A' Division.
Assistant Superintendent Thomas Alexander Scott (8742) Proceeded on leave prior to retirement on August 20th, 2002. He was at the time the Officer in -charge of Traffic in 'C' Division.
Sergeant Berkley Yaw (7799) retired from the Guyana Police Force on September 1st, 2002.
Sergeant Ovid Hardy (10293) retired from the Guyana Police Force on September 1st 2002. At the time of his retirement he was a member of the Presidential Guard.Hardy will be remembered for his exploits in martial arts.
Corporal Dhanraj Ashalt (9250) retired from the Guyana Police Force on September 1st, 2002. At the time of his retirement he was sttioned in 'B' Divsion and attached to the Traffic Department.
Corporal Leyand Thorne (7781) retired from the Guyana Police Force on September 1st, 2002.
Assistant Superintendent (Acting) Edward Nichols (8110) proceeded on leave prior to retirement on September 9th, 2002. At the time he was stationed at the Tactical Services Unit (TSU). Nichols served for a number of years at the Immigration and Passport Office.
Nichols was a well known member of the Police cricket team during the 1970's and 1980's. After finished playing the game at the first class level Nichols became an Cricket Umpire and currently officiates in Test and ODI's.
Detective Deputy Superintendent Baichan Geer retired from the Guyana Police Force on October 1st, 2002. At the time of his retirement he was stationed in 'A' Division and attached to the Criminal Investigations Department.
Chief Inspector James Beckles (7825) retired from the Guyana Police Force on October 1st, 2002. At the time of retirement he was stationed at the Tactical Services Unit (TSU). Beckles was for a number of years body guard to former Prime Minister Ptolemy Reid.
Woman Inspector Sheila Knights (W223) retired from the Guyana Police Force on October 1st, 2002. At the tme of retirement she was stationed at Force Control, Eve Leary. Sheila server for a number of years at Traffic Headquarters, Eve Leary.
Corporal Harold Whitehead (7976) retired from the Guyana Police force on October 1st, 2002. At the time of retirement he was stationed in 'B' Divison and attached to the Supreme Court.
Corporal Donnell Wood (8631) retired from the Guyana Police Force on October 1st, 2002. At the time of retirement he was stationed in 'A' Division. Wood spent a number of years at the Tactical Services Unit.
Sergeant Clement Williams (7522) "Jimmie" proceeded on leave prior to retirement on October 2nd, 2002. At the time he was stationed at the Tactical Services Unit (TSU). "Jimmie" spent a long time during his earlier years at the Presidential Guard.
Inspector Terrence King (9135) retired from the Guyana Police Force on the 1st January, 2003. At the time of his retirement he was stationed at Operations Room, Brickdam.
Detective Superintendent Phillip English (8495)retired from the Guyana Police Force on February 1 st, 2003. At the time of his retirement he was the Divisional Detective Officer "C' Division. ( East Coast Demerara)
Assistant Superintendent Albert Fowler (7614) retired from the Guyana Police Force on Febuary 1st, 2003. At the time of his retirement he was stationed in 'C' Division.
Senior Superintendent Fredrick Caesar D.S.M(7580)retired from the Guyana Police Force on May 1st, 2003. At the time of his retirement he was stationed at the Criminal Investigations Department Police Headquarters.
Superintendent Albert Connell (7600) retired from the Guyan Police Force on August 1st, 2003. At the time of his retirement he was the Officer in-charge of the Tactical Services Unit.
Assistant Superintendent George Fingall (8228)retired from the Guyana Police Force on March 1st,2003. At the time he was the officer in-charge of Springlands Police Station. George spent a number of years as the Commandant of the Felix Austin Police College ( Adventure) Berbice.

Senior Superintendent Kamrul Hassan (8709)retire from the Guyana Police Force on July 1st, 2003. At the time he was the Deputy Chief immigration Officer.
