| I had never heard of the French Spaniel (�pagneul Fran�ais) before 1999.�� We had always had setters, but after a terrible experience with a rescue dog (I cannot blame the dog, but his previous owners), I decided that it was time to seek out a different breed.� I� encountered the French Spaniel� on the internet, while looking at hunting breeds that resembled the Irish Setter. After reading about it, I went to a local dog show� and talked with� a breeder, Paul-�mile Lefebvre of Rawdon, Quebec. A month later I reserved a puppy� from a forthcoming litter. Unfortunately his bitch miscarried a week before her litter was due, so he recommended another breeder.� We picked Lili up on July 18, 1999 from Pierre Vanier. She was just six weeks old, and� cried in her crate all the way home. |

| Je n'avais jamais entendu parl� du race �pagneul Fran�ais.�� On a toujours gard� les Setters Irlandais.� Mais j'ai chang� mes id�es apr�s une mauvaise essai� avec un� chien� de rescousse, et j'ai d�cid� de trouver un autre race semblable. C'�tait en fouillant sur l'Internet que j'ai rencontr� l'�pagneul Fran�ais, en regardant les chiens d'arr�t.� Ensuite je suis all� � l'Expo des chiens � Trois-Rivi�res, �u j'ai parl� avec un �leveur, M. Paul-�mile Lefebvre de Rawdon, Qu�bec.�� Un mois apr�s j'ai r�serv� un chiot de sa prochaine port�e.� Malheureusement sa chienne a avort� une semaine avant sa date pr�vue d'accouchement, donc il m'a recommand� un autre �leveur qu�becois, qui planifiat une port�e pour l'�t�,� M. Pierre Vanier. � l'age de six semaines, Lili est rentr� chez nous le 18 juillet 1999, et elle� a pleur� la dur�e du voyage... |

| Lili is now full-grown and nineteen months old.�� Her only faults are too much enthusiam with strangers, and she loves to lick anyone and anything.� She lives in the house, would sleep on the bed if we let her, and is wonderful company.� Gentle temperament, very birdy and has the makings of a good hunter.� (No, we don't hunt, but I am seriously considering Field Dog� trials - I think that she'd enjoy it). |
| Maintenant Lili a dix-neuf mois, et a attenu sa grandeur adulte.� Elle est fine, sauf qu'elle leche toute et elle est un peu tros enthousiaste avec les �trangers.� Elle est un chien de compagnie exclusivement, et est un membre de notre famille. Sa temp�rament est douce, elle aime les oiseaux tellement, et je pense qu'on va essayer les Field Dog Trials cette �t� avec le CEFC. |
