What owner who is trying to make the playoffs scores 169 points, doesn’t sub all week except to take out Cabrera(who had 14 the days he was out) for Bay(who had 5)? Nice coaching…..with moves like that I can’t recommend you for my sloppy second coaching job at North Smithfield! How is that for a write up, BITCH?!! Stan- In a week that saw both teams struggling along and waiting for "lightin'" to stike, a 175/175 tie was the result. Both pitching staffs really threw up shameful numbers...Brewers(13) and Cubs(33) and the hitters followed in kind. The HG were led by Choo(28) and 26 apiece from Pedroia and Izturis. The FP were led...and we use that term lightly...by Loney (27) and Suzuki (33). But the real story was the number of negative numbers and DNP's that dotted both landscapes. That final score again....FP 175/HG 175   "TIE"

I am sure the DD was hopping all week with the old bastards talking about their fantasy baseball team!!!!

HBYM

177

Cyclones

178

HBYM squeaks out a slim victory over the Cyclones in a low scoring affair. Leading the way were the Rays ps with 55 pts along with another 53 from the duo of Fielder and Lind, other than not too much to talk about. J.Wilson and K.Suzuki each had over 30 in pacing the way for the Cyclones. Too bad the injured Beltran was left in the lineup, might have been a different outcome :(

Rented Mule

Bush League Bombers

146

The Mules continue their winning ways with a good old fashion beat down of the Bombers.  It was a team effort led by Werth (40) and Seattle (35) that sealed the deal.  The Bombers got 32 from their Filene's basement pitching staff Texas and a combined 74 from Jeter, Peralta and Braun but that was it... really that was it. As always the Mules are looking to shake and move! I guess it was a one hit wonder for the BLB as their dismal season continues. The good news is that owner Steve DeMeo is the new coach at Coventry High School….congrats! Better news is Kevvy is in the playoff hunt near the trade deadline, which means more moves!!

The Unknowns pull out another W with a score of 151-130...Like I have said before, NEVER say NEVER ..Playoffs here I come...The Unknowns were led by Detroit’s 34 & possible trade deadline gem R. Week 11

GAME OF THE WEEK!!

Yellowjackets

292

Rotonda Rugrats

247

The Yellowjackets respond to last week’s loss in a BIG way as they score 292 and set a new yearly high. The score is even more impressive considering there were only 6 games this week. YJ was led by an 82 point Wednesday and a 62 point Saturday. Everyone was in doubles for the YJ, led by the Sox(47), Kinsler and BJ Upton(43), V-Mart(33) and quality FQ acquisition Podnedsik(30). The win keeps YJ in first place in the AL and increases their lead point lead in the league and the #1 seed. To quote Kevvy, “ this will be your best 3rd place team yet!” For the RR, the Yankees(56), Counsell and Bourne(32 each) led the way.

I do not care what the website says, this is the game of the week. It is for the sole reason that I may not win another game this year with my sorry ass team who I screwed by having very few meaningful draft picks. The god damn Diamondbacks didn't help either. The BLB defeated HBYM by a final of 190-169 after a thunderous comeback weekend which included a 62 point outburst on Saturday. The BLB were led by Ryan Braun and Nick Johnson, two very attractive commodities as the deadline looms. Let this be a lesson to all the little BLBers out there who want to give up hope when it seems all is lost. In the words of Kevin Garnett, "Anything is possible". With that said, we still suck and will probably get our asses handed to us for the next 8-10 weeks. Thank you and good night. This would have been the game of the week if the YJ didn’t set a new high for the year! We need BLB to win more…..I forgot about the good game summary’s!

The Unknowns pull out a victory!! It might only be there second but they see the light at the end of the tunnel!!! The Unknowns beat the Happy Gators 147-126 ...HG was led by Choo's 32 and Inge's 26!!!  The Unknowns were led by the Tigers staff with 33 and Mr. Consistent Brian Roberts....Now we will have to see how much fight is in the Pollack's and try for the comeback of the century!!!! We love Shane’s optimism…..if only Jon and Kate had his attitude, maybe they wouldn’t be getting divorced!

With a balanced scoring attack and everyne in double figures, the Italian Stallion beat the Cyclones for their 4th win in a row.  The Stallion were led by the Giants PS with 53 and N. McLouth's 35. For the Cyclones Cardinals 51 were their leaders. The Final Score ---  IS  220 - Cycl 178.

Coming off 1 in a row the Mules continue their momentum with a second in a row.  The Mules used a balanced scoring attack as well as a couple of subs on Sunday to pull out the victory which was never as close as the score would indicate.  Mauer (29), Helton (28) and A Ramirez (25) carried the squad but it was two subs Rivera and Mccutchen combining to score 25 on Sunday that sealed the deal. The Keepers who now look like sellers were lead by the Dodgers 46 and Kubel 35.

HBYM

211

In a game that went down to the wire the RR pull out a victory over the HBYM thanks mainly to a Yankee comeback that reversed an otherwise sure loss. Many heroes for the RR, but the Yankees staff (51) Bourne (36) and every starter in double figures led RR. The "Machine were led by the Rays with 62, Fielder chipped in with 49, but little production from the rest of the team. Final score RR 239-211….first place time for first AND the same amount of points!

A big trade on Sunday between the two led to a big win for the Mules keeping a small ray of hope for the Mules.  Seattle PS (57) and weekly powerhouse J Mauer (29) led the way with old man T Helton (25) drinking from the fountain of youth.  25 from both R Howard and R Branyon were the only players of record for the aptly named Unknowns.....SMALL ray of hope?!! HBYM keeps its hot start going with a comeback win over the Zookeepers. The weekend proved to be the difference as HBYM outscored the "Sleeping In" ZK 96-50. Leading the way for HBYM was N.Cruz with 40 and the Rays PS with 37. Helping out for the always high scoring ZK were the Dodgers combo of M. Kemp and PS combining for 79pts. This reminds me of the old Feinstein vs North Smithfield days when Feinni would get up big early and cruise to an easy victory, of course demonstrating excellent sportsmanship the entire game! This was no different! A 69-17 Wed opened the door and YJ wouldn’t let the pesky Bombers back in. YJ was led by the Sox with 50, Kinsler with 31 and 27 from Upton….Justin of course! Only BJ Upton can give the letters BJ a bad name! The BLB are having a season for the ages, 0-8, last in points, and no end in sight! Pierre(34) and Diamondbacks(30) were the only bright spots!

The RR were led by the Yankee connection of Teixeira(47),Damon(19) and the Yankee ps(52) The FP took advantage of their new lineup changes of Loney(22),Barmes(24) and Suzuki(38) combined with 50 pts from the Cubs ps to walk away with a W. On Sunday GM of the year and YJ owner David Tedeschi subbed in Lowell for Young, which netted him +14 while owner of the ZK, Scott Morrison, subbed in Teahen for Longoria, which netted him -7, a 21 point difference….ballgame YJ! Sox had 41, J. Upton 37 and Morales 31 for the YJ. Quote of the week comes from RM owner K. Mclouth (30) and C Guzman (26) were the only mentionable Stallions.... I smell a comeback for the Mules !!!  (pay no attention to the statements in bold to follow)…..Comeback? The FP got a quick start on Monday(21) thanks to the "real" schedule and never looked back. Although the Cyclones got 42/40/38 pts from Gonzales,Beltran and Hawpe respectively, it wasn't enough to overcome Ibanez Week in Philly (59) . The Cubs joined the parade with 45 pts and Sandavol, who is finally turning potential into hard numbers, added 41 pts. After stumbling a few weeks, the FP finally right the ship...final score 255/194 FP.

In a very bizzare ending the RR pull off a win against the ZK. Final score 186-177. The Dodgers pitching staff gave back 10 points in the last inning to reverse what was a great pitching performance. HBYM is now the only team left undefeated in the league as it squeaks out a 7 point win in a battle of division leaders in the NL. It came down to the A's-Mariners game with both teams tied at 185. Fortunately for HBYM the VV's A's pitching staff fell apart in extra innings losing 6 points in the end. Leading the way for the Machine was the Rays PS with 42 along with P. Fielder & A.Lind combined 49 pts. Two day sub A. Callaspo's 17 pts were also instrumental in the win. VV's high scorers were Utley & Morneau who combined for 66 pts once it was all said and done. I will make a prediction right now…..this is the worst 4-0 team in the history of the RIFGFBL and they will not make the playoffs!!

Zoo Keepers

In a tight battle that could have gone either way the Zoo keepers pull out the victory.  Scotty pulled out his special rain dance moves and killed any chance for a Cyclone comeback on Sunday.  The Zoo Keeper were led by the Dodgers pitching and Evan (I AM NOT TRADING HIM) Longoria.  The Cyclones wasted a team wide double digit scoring effort.

Frankie Smith’s sang the Double Dutch Bus but the Unknowns had to take the bus of shame this week. The pitching and catching combo of the Padres and Hundley combined for 22 while the Sox and V-Mart and had 55. It wasn’t Funkytown for the Unknowns but they are in a funk and are looking like they have already packed it in while YJ is already in cruise control. 8 guys over 20 did it for YJ, led by bargain basement Morales with 30 and Young with 29.

In a very low scoring week, that saw both teams within 10 pts of each other all week long, the FP managed to squeeze out a victory on Sunday thanks to Sandavol's first "big" day this season. While VV got the usual big numbers from Pujols(56) and another 22 pts from Morneau, nobody else had much of a week. A negative number from the A's pitching staff didn't help either. For the FP it really was a team effort with Sandavol(22),Hudson(19) and Church(19) combing with 34 pts from the Cubs to earn a 157/134 win.. The Polocks win...theee Polocks win!! 196

Unknowns

154

Despite a bold prediction by the Unknowns early on in the week HBYM cruises to victory in this one sided affair. This week’s MVP A. Ethier’s 52 points were pivotal in the win along with A.Cabrera’s 33 points. The Unknowns were led by the recently cut W.Sox PS and B.Roberts both scoring 28 points. Unknowns 0-2? I predict a flurry of moves and trades for owner Shane Reis, probably with Kevvy and the devil!

Blowout of the Week

Rotonda Rugrats

229

Cyclones

76

The RR handed the Cyclones a 229-76 beating in a week that the Philadelphia pitchers had more points batting than pitching. (3 to -9). The RR had a few hitting stars including Jacobs (37) DeRosa (38) Jones (36) and Manny with 32. A. Gonzalez led the Cyclones with 30. 76? I hope the new kangaroo court czar, who cant seem to get the kangaroo court updated, sees that score! Fines, fines, everywhere fines!

Week 1

GAME OF THE WEEK!!

Vintage Vinyl

250

Zoo Keepers

230

In a high scoring shootout, the Vintage Vinyl defeats the Zookeepers 250 - 230. Both teams had 6 positions scoring over 22 points. The Vinyl was led by Albert Pujols with 51, Chase Utley with 40, and Marco Scutaro with 40. The young A's pitching staff had 27. The Zookeepers were led by Evan Longoria with 55 and the Dodgers pitching staff with 53. Lowrie and Ortiz killed the Zookeepers. A great week scoring for both teams.

Rented Mule

218

Bush League Bombers

132

Week # 1 sees the pick loaded Mules topple the mortgage the future to win in 08 Bombers.  The Mules were lead by the Mariners who rolled with 81, McCann 33, and J Werth 29.  The Bombers had M Fotenot 26 and G Atkins 21 and thats about all.  Bring on the Pollocks...and the new Mule line up !!!!!!

Fighting Polocks

201

Unknowns

174

In a week that naturally starts very slowly for every team, the Polocks managed to stay close most of the week  and then put up some big numbers on Friday/Saturday to pull away from the Unknowns 201/174. The Unknowns got good numbers from SORIANO(44) and DUNN(28) but not much from the remaining lineup. The pitching staff added 54 pts despite losing three games. For the Polocks, their pitching staff chipped in 41 pts with Escobar(30),Ludwick(26) and Schafer(27) carrying the offense for the win. That score again...201/176  Polocks win, Polocks win....get use to hearing that. The FP defeated the Unknowns in Week 1 last year too….maybe it will work out for the Unknowns again this year!

Italian Stallion

181

Yellowjackets

171

Despite scoring a big fat zero on Sunday(I guess they thought they had Easter off) the Italian Stallion got the best of the Yellowjackets in week 1. The IS were led by the duo of Cano's 32 and Cantu's 30 and a fairly balanced rest of the team. For the YJ they had 4 players in the 20's led by V. Martinez's 28. After a day one 21 by the Sox, they had -4 the rest of the week. Bulldookie!

HBYM

183

Cyclones

146

Leading the way for HBYM was A.Lind with 43 points along with the Dynamic OF duo J.Bay and N.Cruz combining for 67 pts. All but 2 players were in double figures. Possible comeback player of the year T.Tulowitzski had 29 points and the Phils PS managed 23 points. Unfortunately that was about it for the Cyclones.

Stinker of the Week

158

Rotonda Rugrats
