I set my hook
I cast the line
Those fish may be slow
But I have plenty of time

They swim around
And look at the bait
Nibble nibble all day long
Now it's getting late

One more quick cast
Then I'll have to go
I got one but he is small
I'll let him go so he can grow

The bait bucket is empty
There isn't any more
I was hoping for a fish dinner
I had better stop at the store

Home to the little woman
After being gone all day
Tell her a big story
About the one that got away

She knows I caught nothing
Though she still gives me a smile
I'll go back out tomorrow
And try again for a little while

A Voice From The Stars
As I sit here gazing
I hear a voice that calms me
As if whispering only to my ears
Shooting stars I am looking to see

The voice is beautiful and fresh
Like wild flowers in the spring
As weet as a nightingale's song
Sitting in the tree as she sings

All that nature has to offer me
Yet the simple is what I love
Things that come from the heart
Like a light summer rain from above

I listen to the voice and I wonder
Am I the only one who really hears
Will it fade away on a cloud at night
Or will I be able to listen for it for years

On this night of the 15th of August
I hear and the sound brings a smile
It only lasts for a few short hours
But it keep me going for many miles

What I wished for lastnight
When the stars were all out
And the moon was shining bright

To look over to the next pillow space
And not to see it so empty
But to see your beautiful face

I wished for the sound of your voice
To fill my ears as well as my heart
Your smile to awaken to is my choice

I wish to look into your eyes
As you first awaken to the day
Like rainbows in the morning skies

I also wished to hold you at night
As you fall asleep in my arms
While I hold you close and tight

I wished that you only knew
How often I think of us
And just how much I love you.
A Sky Full Of Wishes
Am I in your thoughts
In the morning when you wake
there to greet your sleepy eyes
When the sun is rising at daybreak

Do you think of me
When you hear a certain song
Warming your heart
Thinking thats where I belong

Am I in your thoughts
In the warm summer evening
Looking up at the stars
Making wishes and believing

Am I in your dreams
Late at night while you sleep
You are in my dreams and heart
And there you will remain so deep
Am I, You Are
Without you my soul is lost
Hidden away from the skies
A cold and empty void
Is all that is in my eyes

The vacant depth of my heart
From the absence of you
Once was the color red
Now has turned stone blue

Reaching out for just one touch
Without the feeling it longs
Forgetting all the rights
Remebering all the wrongs

Needed is the warmth of your love
The touch of your soft skin
To show you the love I hold
Deep down in me hidden within

Let my heart feel yours beat
And know the love it requires
For you hold the only key
To release my intimate desires

All the love my heart holds
Every last drop to you they belong
Receive it as soon as you can
It may wither away before to long
Desired Love
Those Brown Eyes
Oh those brown eyes
Color of a newly born fawn
Hiding beneathe a large oak tree
Awaiting the coming morning dawn

Oh those brown eyes
Within them many dreams
Paradise under a waterfalls
Rainbows riding sunlight beams

Oh those brown eyes
They stir many thoughts in me
Deep inside them hidden away
Secrets of heaven I can see

Oh those brown eyes
One of the beauties in this world
Thouh nothing like them on earth
Belonging to a very specail girl

Oh thos brown eyes
How they brighten every day
Getting even more so beautiful
There is nothing else left to say
Rainbows Are Real
She sat on my lap in the chair
Her eyes all filled up with tears
She asked me to settle all her fears
I have a real question for you please

Just then she asked
Daddy, are rainbows really real
Can they change the way I feel
Oh Daddy, where do they come from

So I told her , yes
I can see them in your eyes
Even when you start to cry
Oh Baby yes, rainbows are really real

She said thank you with a hug
And asked me once again
Now I know that they are real then
Daddy, where do they come from

Baby girl they are made of angel light
And they come from out beyond the skies
But I can see them always in your eyes
Baby gilr thats how I know the come from heaven,
     Because you did

My how they grow up way to fast
She's moving out away on her own
Time flew by now she's grown
She looks at my teared filled eyes

And then she says to me
Now I know rainbows are really real
I know first hand how they make me feel
But daddy, I will always and for ever love you
I miss her sweet little smiles
Her soft gentle little kiss
Her breath on my neck
While she sleeps is what I miss

I miss all her simple questions
The ones of every shape and size
I miss seeing that twinkle
And the sparkle in her eyes

I remember tucking her in
Telling her stories at night
I miss hearing her soft voice saying
I love you when I turn off the light

She may be grown and out on her own
I still miss her laughter and blonde curls
But nothing in this big wondeful world
Will ever stop her from being Daddy's little girl
